Tyler Lockett, the NFL player, was born on September 28, 1992, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His mother’s name is Nicole Edwards. Likewise, his father’s name is Kevin Lockett.

Kevin was the all-time leading receiver at Kansas State from 1993 to 1996 before being passed by his son. Kevin also played in the NFL for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Aaron, Tyler’s uncle, was Kansas State’s fourth all-time leading receiver and second all-time leading punt returner from 1998 to 2001. Aaron also holds the Big 12 Conference and school records in the 60 meters.

The player assisted in leading the Booker T. Washington Hornets to Oklahoma School Activities Association (OSSAA) football and basketball championships.

The Seattle Seahawks chose Lockett in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft.

In his first NFL appearance, Tyler scored on a 103-yard kickoff return against the Denver Broncos in Seattle’s preseason opener, the team’s first touchdown of the season.

In 2018, Lockett agreed to a three-year, $31.8 million contract extension with the Seahawks through the 2021 season. During the first three games, he had 12 receptions for 196 yards. He also scored a receiving touchdown in each game.

With 57 receptions for 10 touchdowns and 965 yards, Tyler finished the 2018 season as the Seahawks’ leading receiver.

Similarly, the player signed a four-year, $69.2 million contract extension with the Seahawks on April 2, 2021, with $37 million guaranteed.

Lockett began the season with a 100-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Indianapolis Colts and a 178-yard, one-touchdown performance against the Tennessee Titans.

The player finished the regular season with three games of 100 yards or more (142, 115, 142). He finished the season with 73 receptions for 1,175 yards and eight receiving touchdowns.

In his freshman year during college time, Tyler did not play in the final three games of Kansas’ regular season due to an undisclosed injury.

The injury was later determined to be a lacerated kidney. The player had at least three receptions and 125 all-purpose yards in each of the four games prior to the injury. 

Likewise, Lockett also suffered a hamstring injury in the first half of Oklahoma State’s game on October 5.

However, 20 days later, on October 26, Tyler returned to the lineup and recorded three touchdowns and 111 yards on eight receptions to help Kansas State earn its first Big 12 victory of the season against West Virginia.

Further, talking about the time during his professional career, Tyler broke his right tibia and fibula while making a 28-yard catch against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 16.

Later that night, he had surgery and was placed on injured reserve on December 27, 2016.
