Tyler Jaden Napier Edward Onyango is an English soccer player who plays as a central midfielder for Everton in the English Premier League. He debuted for Everton in the fourth round of the FA Cup in 2021.

However, his premier league debut was an unfortunate one, with his team losing 3-0 to the league’s leader Manchester City. He made two more appearances that season while his team struggled to avoid relegation.

The youngster joined EFL League One club Burton Albion on a season-long loan deal on 27 July 2022. In the following season, the young midfielder joined Forest Green Rovers on a year-long loan deal.

Unfortunately, after suffering a hamstring injury after just three appearances, Onyango was forced to return to his parent club.

The central midfielder has a contract with Everton until June 2025. Additionally, Onyango has made 5 appearances for the England U17.

Tyler was born to his parents, Evans and Amy, on 4 March 2003 in Luton, England. The soccer star reportedly showed early signs of getting involved in sports.

Father Evans Onyango: Kenyan Roots

Evans, who is a former rugby player, used to take his son to all his home games. In no time, Tyler picked up a liking for rugby and sports in general.

The proud father is the oldest of his four brothers. They went to Nairobi School in Kenya, where they would play for the school’s rugby team, The Patch Machine.

Despite performing well in several sports, all four of them had a keen interest in playing rugby.

After finishing high school, Evans moved to the UK, and his brothers Allan and Patrick followed. The Kenyan reportedly continued playing rugby for his university team as well as the local team, Lutton.

The former player met the “love of his life,” Amy, at his university. Eventually, after their graduation, the loving couple got hitched.

After giving birth to Tyler, the couple decided to move to Kendal, Amy’s hometown, as they believed it to be a better place to raise their son. Meanwhile, Onyango Sr. continued playing rugby in the third division.

The Kenyan owns a business these days and is busy traveling to countries like Kenya, South Sudan, Uganda, etc.

Likewise, the midfielder’s mother runs an award-winning graphic design and illustration agency, Felltarn Friends, in Kendal with her friend Claire Lambert.

Her firm received the Best Creative Business award in 2017, followed by the Best Small Business award in 2018.

In addition to that, Amy is also responsible for keeping her son grounded. The young midfielder understands how media attention can corrupt players’ minds and relies on his mothers’s advice to remain grounded.

Tyler credits all his progress to his parents, especially his mother, who, according to him, has been his pillar. The Everton player thanks her for getting him to all his training sessions.

Tyler also thanks his parents for always being available to give him advice and helping him keep a strong mindset.

Onyango Parents’ Faith In Tyler

Tyler Onyago parents are proud of all that their son has achieved and are hopeful for all the possibilities that lie ahead of the young midfielder.

The midfielder believed his call-up to the England Under-17 side in 2019 was the proudest moment of his career so far.

With the possibility of being able to choose between representing Kenya or England, the 20-year-old insists he is open to exploring any opportunities.

Meanwhile, as a Kenyan immigrant, Evans would love to see his son represent his home country. However, he has left that decision entirely up to his son.

The young central midfielder has much to look forward to. With a good attitude, sharp focus, dedication, and willingness to make sacrifices, the midfielder is likely to achieve great feats of success.
