Alexander’ Alex’ Gonzalo, a Austin, Texas resident and standout Park Ridge athlete, passed away at an untimely age of 22 in a tragic scooter accident, leaving his parents, siblings, and loved ones devastated.

According to reports, Alexander William Gonzalo, 22, died at a hospital on Sunday, November 16, 2025, after being struck by a vehicle while riding a scooter in downtown Austin.

The crash occurred early Saturday morning, November 15, at approximately 1:29 a.m., at the intersection of West Fifth Street and Rio Grande Street, according to the Austin Police Department (APD).

Officers responding to the scene confirmed that Gonzalo was transported to the hospital following the collision, where he was pronounced deceased the following day.

APD stated that the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, was not impaired, and cooperated fully with the investigation.

Furthermore, the untimely death of Alex Gonzalo has left a profound void in the lives of his parents, family, and loved ones.

He touched the lives of many with his amazing athletic skills, excelling in multiple sports.

Alexander Gonzalo was born on February 24, 2003, as the eldest of three children to parents, Molly and Miguel Gonzalo.

He has two younger siblings, a brother named Christopher ‘Chris’ Gonzalo and a sister named Piper Gonzalo.

Furthermore, Molly and Miquel Gonzalo raised all three of their kids to be outstanding athletes.

Alex played baseball at Maine South High School and the University of Rochester, winning several honorable titles throughout his tenure.

Following in his elder brother’s footsteps, Chris also played baseball at Maine South High School and is currently playing as an infielder for the Montclair State University men’s baseball team.

While Molly and Miguel haven’t released any statement regarding the untimely death of their beloved eldest son, Alex Gonzalo, as they prefer to maintain a low profile and are currently grieving the loss, they often express their love and pride for him.

Prior to this role, Miguel spent over a decade as a Client Relationship Manager at Adams Street Partners, from May 2000 to March 2013.

He began his career as an analyst at Brinson Partners, Inc., where he worked from September 1995 to April 2000.

Miguel holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, earned between 1999 and 2001, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from the University of Notre Dame, completed in 1995.

He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a certification he obtained in July 1999, reflecting his expertise and commitment to the field of investment management.

With over 25 years of professional experience, Miguel has built a distinguished career in investment strategy and client management.

Very little information about Alex’s mother, Molly Gonzalo’s, professional journey is available, as he prefers to maintain a low profile.

In addition to his parents, Molly and Miguel, and his siblings, Chris and Piper, Alex Gonzalo is survived by his grandparents, cousins, uncles, aunts, and the entire family.
