The Valdosta, Georgia, community is heartbroken following the unexpected Josh Lale’s death on December 12, 2025.

Josh was a dedicated coach at Pine Grove Middle School and a cherished figure who touched countless lives with his kindness, humor, and passion for youth and sports.

Josh Lale was more than just a coach. He had a special gift for connecting with people, especially kids.

He brought laughter wherever he went and made everyone feel seen and valued. Whether on the field or in everyday interactions, Josh extended friendship to all.

He loved all forms of sports and poured his heart into coaching at Pine Grove Middle School.

He also taught at his church, helping young people learn about grace, love, and forgiveness while fostering their enthusiasm for athletics.

His sudden passing has left a deep void. One friend described it as a “deep chasm” that can’t be easily filled.

The loss is especially painful for his wife, their two children, and the nephews he loved like his own sons.

In the wake of this tragedy, the community has rallied to support the family. A GoFundMe campaign set up by Daniel Hamblin has already raised over $13,000.

The funds will go directly to help with expenses during this difficult time. Daniel shared a heartfelt update:

“Thank you to everyone who has donated so far! I know we all wonder what we can do to help. While none of this brings Josh back, it’s wonderful to see a community come together to support the family of someone who has supported so many. I have been in contact with Josh’s family and I know this means a lot to them. If you have means to donate, please do so. And let’s keep this family in our prayers!”

Ashley Lambert-Ehinger shared a particularly emotional account, noting that Josh passed away following an end-of-year football celebration.

“Korbin’s coach unexpectedly passed away last night following an end of year football celebration. This man dedicated his heart and life to these kids and truly loved his job.
