Erik Van Rooyen, a South African professional golfer, has been making his mark in the world of golf.

Born on 1990 February 21, he turned professional in 2013 and has since climbed the ranks.

A University of Minnesota graduate, Erik won the 2012 Minnesota State Amateur during his collegiate career.

As of now, Erik plays on the Sunshine Tour and the PGA Tour and has earned victories while competing in major championships.

Evidently, he has won twice on the PGA Tour. Apart from his recent victory in Mexico, his first win came at the Barracuda Championship in 2021.

Furthermore, Erik’s notable victories include the Southern Cape Open 2011 and the Scandinavian Invitation 2019.

Alex Gaugert is a relatively lesser-known figure in the world of golf compared to Erik Van Rooyen, whom he caddies for.

Gaugert has formed an impeccable partnership with Erik. His understanding of the game allows him to gain valuable insight based on Erik’s style.

Alex Gaugert was born on Apr 25, 1992, in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, to Jim and Jeri Gaugert.

Likewise, he attended Lake Geneva High School and honed his skills on the Badger HS golf team.

After his graduation, Gaugert had a stellar undergraduate career at the University of Minnesota. He competed in many intercollegiate tournaments as a member of the Gophers golf team.

Even though Gaugert turned professional after his collegiate career, his pro career was confined mainly to the mini-tours.

In May 2012, he commenced his caddying journey from Interlachen Country Club. Also, he has been carrying Rooyen’s bag since 2019.

Currently, the American is also a PGA Teaching Professional at Tonto Verde Golf Club in Arizona.

Erik And Alex: Net Worth Difference

Erik Van Rooyen’s net worth is influenced by his successes in the world of professional golf.

While the exact figures can vary from year to year, it is estimated that his net worth is around $5 million, thanks to his achievements in the sport.

As a professional golfer, Van Rooyen’s net worth primarily stems from tournament winnings, sponsorships, and endorsements.

In light of the PGA Tour’s official website, he has accumulated $6,353,755 in career earnings. In the 2022-23 season, he has earned $2,457,390 in official money as of November 2023.

On the other hand, Alex Gaugert’s net worth is estimated to be around $500,000, which is considerably lower than that of Erik.

Caddies typically earn a percentage of the player’s winnings, and their income depends on the golfer’s performance and success.

Additionally, caddies like Gaugert receive a base salary, which is reported to be $1500-$2000 per week. However, the bonuses are based on a golfer’s performance in major tournaments.

Caddies are undoubtedly well-compensated, but their earnings are not in the same league as top professional golfers like Erik Van Rooyen.
