2023 couldn’t have been more of a special year for the Kansas City Chiefs safety Deon Bush. He became a father for the first time and later that month won his first Super Bowl title with Patrick Mahomes and Co.
A fourth-round pick of the 2016 NFL Draft, Bush spent his first six seasons with the Chicago Bears. He was signed as a free agent by the Chiefs in 2022, and last year, the Chiefs tied him down to a one-year contract.
Recently, against the Baltimore Ravens, the Chiefs’ safety, Deon, put on a spectacular performance in the second half of the game. He came up with the game-sealing interception in the endzone in the fourth quarter, helping the Chiefs return to the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs’ safety Deon Bush wife, Amina Smith, is a multi-platform studio host for NBC Sports Boston. She began working for NBC Sports Boston in March 2021.
Smith was born on January 11, 1992, and is a year older than her footballer husband. In 2010, Amina enrolled at the University of South Carolina, and after two years, she decided to transfer to the University of Miami.
In 2014, she graduated with a journalism degree and was also part of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. During her time in Miami, Amina would conduct interviews with athletes and promote events and programming via social media.
She also previously worked as an intern at Fox News Channel. Right after graduation, Amina began working for a Miami-based company, Generation Nexxt as a sideline reporter. At the same time, she was also working for Global Grind as an Editorial Intern.
That same year, Amina worked as a reporter/anchor for 6 News Lawrence, and she would be seen pitching stories for the 6 pm and 10 pm newscasts. At the end of 2014, Smith joined ESPN, where she worked for almost two years as a production stage manager.
Amina joined the Big Ten Network in 2016 and worked for BET Network as an On-Air Talent in 2017. On Instagram, Amina has 24.7k followers, and in 2022, the host won an Emmy Award for her outstanding job.

The football couple, Deon Bush and Amina Smith, began dating when they were in Miami. When Amina transferred to the University of Miami, Deon was in his freshman year.
Bush played four years of collegiate football at Miami, where he was one of the top defensive players. It was on March 16, 2014, that Amina shared the first photo of her with her lover.
She captioned the post, “Church on Sunday,” and a few of her friends joked in the comment section asking when she started visiting the church. After a few months, Deon was seen beside Amina at her graduation ceremony, and a year later year, Amina was seen doing the same.
After Deon was drafted by the Bears in 2014, Amina shared a photo of Deon with his Bears gear and hugging her. She captioned the post, “Blessings on blessings on blessings.”
In 2018, after four years of dating, the Bush went down on one knee as he proposed to Amina during their trip to San Jose, Costa Rica. Amina shared a gallery of images from the trip and that of her big rock.
A few months after the proposal, the couple organized a party in Chicago, Illinois, and later had their engagement photoshoots. The couple had planned to tie the knot on June 20, 2020, but postponed the ceremony due to the global pandemic.

Last year in January, the couple had their maternity photoshoot. In the shoot video, it is revealed that they had chosen to name their child Deuce. A month later, Amina shared the first photo of their child.
Amina couldn’t be present at the University of Phoenix Stadium to watch her hubby win his first Super Bowl ring. But maybe this year, we can see Amina and Bush Jr rooting for Deon in Las Vegas.
