The youngest of four daughters, Shyanne, is a collegiate basketball player at the University of Maryland.
She is not the only one who fell in love with the hoops- her elder sisters, Syarra and Shayla, were also basketball players at college.
While the genes from her dad were one reason for her to pursue basketball, her radio personality mother, Kym’s pushing factor and encouragement, was yet another cause of her proficiency.
Shyanne’s father, Bradley Dean Sellers, is a former basketball power forward/center who played in the NBA (Bulls, Seattle, and Timberwolves) from 1986 to 1994. Later, he played overseas until his retirement in 1999.
Sellers was the 9th overall pick in the 1989 NBA draft, joining the fellow draftees: Brad Daugherty, Dell Curry (Stephen Curry‘s father), Arvydas Sabonis, and Dennis Rodman, among others.
Then, from 2001 to 2011, he served as the director of economic development for the City of Warrensville Heights.

There, she served as the captain of the high school basketball team and was a leading scorer- she reached a 1,000-point milestone in her junior season.
Ranked #22 in the 2021 recruiting class, Shyanne enrolled at the University of Maryland to play for the Maryland Terrapins. As a freshman (in 2021-22), she averaged 7.7 points, 3.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.8 steals per game.
During her sophomore year (2022-23), she scored double figures in 28 out of 35 games. As a result, she became the All-Big Ten Defensive Team and earned Academic All-Big Ten honors.
The 2023-24 season marks the junior year for the 6 feet 2 inches tall guard.

The Maryland basketball gem’s eldest sister, Syndey, is a graduate of Kent State University (2018- 22) with a degree in Public Relationships, Advertising, and Applied communication.
Her current profession is not out yet. She is the mother of a son, Brayden (b. February 2018), with her partner Sean White. Sean is an assistant basketball coach at Western Reserve Academy.
