Zamir White Family
Zamir White was raised by his single mother, Shanee White. Shanee was only 14 years old when she gave birth to Zamir.
She was close to aborting him, but her grandmother insisted she gave birth to the child. In 1999, Zamir was born with a cleft lip and cleft palate, and doctors gave him only two weeks to stay alive.
Zamir survived and stayed in the hospital for three months. When he was six months old, Zamir underwent surgery to repair his cleft lip and to repair the cleft palate, a hole in the roof of his mouth.
His father was never present in his life. He went to prison shortly after Zamir was born, and his uncle, Anthony Pegues, stepped in to fulfill the father figure’s role.
Shanee works for the state’s Department of Public Safety as a correction officer. She has a daughter from another relationship, Zimora McClain, and Zamir previously stated he wants to help them get out of Laurinburg.
