Former WWE star, Zelina Vega was born on December 27, 1990, in Queens, New York, and is of Puerto Rican descent. She is an elder child to her parents, Michael Trinidad and Monique Trinidad.

Likewise, Timothy Trinidad is Vega’s younger brother, and they grew up together watching a professional wresting together; that’s where she grew her wrestling attachment.

Vega’s parents divorced when both she and her brother were very young, but her parents’ relationship was calm. Likewise, her father worked as a telecom analyst for Cantor Fitzgerald at the World Trade Centre and got killed during the September 11 terrorist attack at the World Trade Centre.

The death of her father left her and her family broken. As a young girl, she practiced swimming and played baseball at school, but her interest inclined her to wrestle more. Furthermore, Vega says that it was her father who made and motivated her to enter the world of boxing. NBC featured her in a special issue titled Children of 9/11.

Vega started her initial wrestling training under Javi-Air, Azrieal, and T.J. Perkins. Likewise, her professional debut started on February 20, 2010, as a ring name Divina Fly under National Wrestling Superstars (NWS).

Zelina faced off against Brittney Savage in Bloomfield, New Jersey but lost the fight. Similarly, she fought several losing effort in her starting career.

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2011 to 2013)

While Vega was in Women Superstars Uncensored (WSU), she was noticed by Tommy Dreamer, who gave her a chance to show her performance at Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) Impact.

Independent Circuit (2011 to 2017)

At the event held by the Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) promotion, Rosita (Thea Trinidad) traveled to Mexico to attend an event. While she was staying in Mexico, she was trained by CMLL trainers Arturo Beristain and Tony Salazar, and she also got a contract offer. However, she couldn’t sign due to her commitment to TNA.

Rosita also made her in-ring debut for Family Wrestling Entertainment, losing a fellow knockout to winter.

Similarly, she was also part of the roster for Global Force Wrestling (GFW), held on May 6, 2015. She defeated Lei’D Tapa at her first match of GFW on June 12, 2015.

World Wrestling Entertainment WWE (2017 to 2020)

Trinidad took part in a try out session for WWE on March 4, 2013. She also made her appearances in several brief promotions, such as in Adam Rose’s “Rosebud” and lost a fight against Asuka of NXT Women’s Champion. Similarly, in 2017, Trinidad signed a WWE contract and began her training at the performance center.

Likewise, Trinidad started her WWE career as Zelina Vega; at first, she was the heel manager of Almas, who defeated No Way Jose on an NXT episode. Vega also accompanied Almas to several matches but she interfered by attempting to perform a hurricanrana.
