Sydney Wilson, the 33-year-old woman who died after being shot by a police officer in self-defense following her knife attack, was a Georgetown University alumna.

Born on October 7, 1990, in Pennsylvania, Sydney Wilson lived in Reston, Virginia, where the incident occurred.

Since Fairfax Police released the video footage, there has been significant public interest in the incident and Sydney Wilson.

Wilson also played women’s basketball at Georgetown University, which shared a condolence post in her memory.

Sydney Wilson Was Family-Oriented and Shared a Close Bond With Her Parents and Grandparents

Sydney Wilson was close to her parents, Edith Wilson and Lori Ann Myers, as evidenced by her frequent social media interactions.

Wilson was incredibly close to her mother, Lori, with whom she often shared photos of them spending time together.

On New Year’s Eve 2022, she shared a picture with her mother, celebrating the occasion over lunch.

Additionally, on her mother’s birthday, she posted childhood pictures of them together, wishing her mom a happy birthday.

Sydney Wilson graduated from St. John’s College High School and previously attended Pine Richland School District, where she played varsity basketball at both schools.

In 2013, she graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Arts in Government, majoring in Government and minoring in Theology.

Additionally, she received a full academic-athletic scholarship at Georgetown, where she played women’s basketball and served as team captain from 2012 to 2013.

After her graduation, Wilson worked as an assistant account executive and member of the marketing team at Stone Street Capital.

Furthermore, she served as an account specialist at Bing Ads at Microsoft in 2016 and later worked as a manager at Exhale Spa.

Following that, she worked as a Mid-Atlantic Leasing Operations Manager at JLL starting in June 2021, according to her LinkedIn profile.

In her Instagram bio, she described herself as a Commercial Real Estate Markets Operations Manager.

Moreover, she identifies as a Christian, as indicated by including Luke 12:48 in her bio, which clearly reflects her faith.

Furthermore, she often shares posts about Christianity and has a dedicated Instagram story highlighting her church activities.
