Micheal Christopher McDowell, an American professional stock car racing driver, was born on December 21, 1984, in Phoenix, Arizona. Currently, he competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup series.
The young racing prodigy started his career by racing BMX bicycles at age three. When he was eight, he began karting and quickly won the World Karting Championship.
In 2002, McDowell switched from karts to Formula Renault, joining World Speed Motorsports.
During his rookie season, he achieved victories at the Infineon Raceway, Las Vegas, and Firebird International Raceway events.
The stock car racer has earned several awards throughout his career, including the 2007 ARCA Re/Max Series Rookie of the Year and NASCAR Cup Xfinity Series in 2016.

Michael McDowell is married to his longtime girlfriend, Jami McDowell. The couple was just 15 years when they first met.
They dated for a long time and finally tied the knot in the year 2004.
The Grinnell College graduate, Jami, currently works as Major Gift Officer at Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains.
Previously, she served as a Yoga instructor at Source Yoga Studio.
The NASCAR Cup series star holds strong religious beliefs, openly shares his faith in numerous interviews, and even credits this devotion to his successful relationship.
In one of his interviews, he said,
“It’s been an amazing journey to have that support and have somebody that not only believes in your ability but that shares the same faith and passion and pursuit.”

Michael and Jami are proud parents of a total of five children. They are biological parents to four of their children: Trace, Emma, Rylie, and Isabella.
In addition to that, they also have an adopted child from China, Lucas.
