After a loan to SC Heerenveen in the Netherlands, he truly found his stride upon returning to Denmark with FC Midtjylland in 2020. His excellent play earned him the Danish Superliga Player of the Month award.

His goalscoring ability was on full display in his next move to Rubin Kazan in Russia, where he made history by scoring a hat-trick on his debut.

However, due to the war in Ukraine, his contract was suspended in 2022, and he returned to FC Midtjylland, first on loan and then permanently.

After an intense period with Anderlecht in Belgium, Dreyer embarked on a new adventure in 2025, joining the new MLS club San Diego FC. He made an immediate impact, scoring the club’s first-ever goals in their debut match.
