Alex’s first performance after his injury got recovered in 2020 was against the Los Angeles Rams in Week 5. He popped into the game after Kyle Allen faced an arm injury, and Alex got to finish it with nine completions for 37 yards.

However, Washingtons had to face a major loss with a 30-10 record. Alex’s second appearance was against the New York Giants when Allen was left with a dislocated ankle. He threw for 325 yards with a touchdown and three interceptions.

Alex also played against Detroit Lions, but that resulted in a 30-27 loss.  Nevertheless, he grabbed his first win in a 20–9 game against the Cincinnati Bengals since his injury.
