Beau Baldwin | Early Life, Family and Education

Baldwin (fully named Beau Daniel Baldwin) was born on May 21, 1972, under Gemini’s sun sign. Apparently, born in Santa Barbara, California, he has a brother named Joe Baldwin.

During his tenure, he bagged three letters in football and three in baseball. Additionally, he also led the team to the 1989 Washington State AAA title in football.

Following his high school graduation in 1990, he enrolled in the Central Washington University.

Apparently, his college years were till 1993, and till then, he played for the college team. Featuring as the quarterback, Baldwin was a two-time team captain.

He maintained his record as 52 attempts, 32 completions, 550 yards in all 467 gameplay as a college player. 

Altogether, he set the school record for a career completion percentage of .614. After college completion, Baldwin devoted himself to semi-pro football in Sweden.

With a short-lived moment in Sweden, Baldwin returned to Central Washington in 1994 as the Wildcats’ quarterback coach.

In his presence, Baldwin took the team towards a 10–3–1 record and the NAIA Division II National Championship.

Not to mention, Jon Kitna bagged the All-American honors under Baldwin’s supervision, which also led Kitna to the NFL. Likewise, he was with Central Washington till 2002.

Besides Kitna, another prospect, Baldwin has produced the All-American quarterback in Zak Hill, as he got top-five at the NCAA Division II level.

In 2003, Baldwin later engaged in Eastern Washington as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. 

During his tenure, he coached the 2005 Walter Payton Award winner, quarterback Erik Meyer.

Head Coach, Beau Baldwin

After years of being an assistant coach, Beau Baldwin finally starred as the head coach in 2007. 

Central Washington

Apparently, Baldwin coached just for a year at the Wildcats, where he maintained a 10–3 record.

Altogether, he led the team to the 2007 NCAA Division II playoffs and successfully defended Division II National Champion Grand Valley State.

During his supervision, the Wildcats averaged 31.4 points per game with 263.5 passing. 

Eastern Washington

A year later, he started coaching at Eastern Washington and led them with 6–5 overall and 5–3 in the Big Sky Conference during his first year.

Following it, he led the team to the FCS Playoffs and the NCAA Division I Football Championship.

Later, Baldwin made the best year in 2010 for the team, where he led them to the school’s first national championship in football.

By then, he contributed to the team in winning two Big Sky Conference titles. At the same time, Baldwin claimed the Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year.

Later, his team defeated FBS #25 Oregon State, which imprinted them as the FBS opponent in college football history.

California

After eight years of journey with Eastern Washington, Baldwin started to work for California as the offensive coordinator.

During the first year, Baldwin led the team for the Pac-12 Conference.

Cal Poly

After three years with the team, Baldwin became Cal Poly’s head coach on December 10, 2019

He was formally introduced as the new head coach at a press conference inside the Recreation Center’s Multi-Activity Center by Cal Poly President Jeffrey Armstrong and Athletic Director Don Oberhelman.

During the tenure with Cal, Baldwin led Cal to win 20 of 38 games with appearances in the 2018 Cheez-It Bowl and the 2019 Redbox Bowl.
