BP Youth Community is Mourning the Unexpected Loss of Their Coach, Jayme Ragan!
Jayme was born on May 2, 1977, to his late parents, Evelyn (Rae) Pope and Thomas Ragan, in Liberty Borough.
After moving to Bethel Park from Liberty Borough, Jayme began coaching neighborhood kids and has also earned a nickname, “Mr. Pittsburgh,” as he was a die-hard supporter of all Pittsburgh sports.

When newcomers arrived in Bethel Park, Jayme and his family welcomed them with warmth and kindness. He coached children in multiple sports, including his own son.
One of his neighbors, who was welcomed by Jayme and whose son was also coached by him, expressed sorrow on Facebook, saying;
Yesterday, we lost a dear friend and coach, Jayme Ragan. His passing has left a hole in so many lives, and our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with Shaneil, Carter, and Evan during this unimaginable time. When we were new to Bethel Park, Jayme and his family welcomed us with open arms. He coached Teige in every sport and treated every child like his own; with kindness, patience, and encouragement. Jayme was not only an incredible coach, but also a devoted father, a loving husband, and a true friend. His impact on this community and on the lives of so many kids will never be forgotten.
According to the community, Jayme was a kind soul whose presence brought light, laughter, and energy wherever he went. His trademark catchphrase, “Right on!” was a reminder of his joy in life.
Jayme’s passing has left many in shock, and he will definitely be missed by his admirers, especially his family and friends, and the neighbors of Bethel Park.
Furthermore, Pittsburgh Cremation & Funeral Care in McMurray has scheduled the visitation for Jayme’s funeral for Wednesday, September 10, from 2–8 p.m.
His funeral service will take place on Thursday, September 11, at 10 a.m. at the exact location. Instead of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to his GoFundMe.
