Bill Ferrario, an American professional football player, was married to Stephanie L. Ferrario, a senior consultant. They had two children, Chris Ferrario and Luciana Ferrario.

The married couple had ups and downs, which eventually led to their divorce. Bill was given a withheld sentence for charges of domestic abuse against his former wife.

On September 23, 2025, Bill unexpectedly passed away at his home in Wisconsin, just two days after celebrating his 47th birthday.

The football community remembered him as a giant on the field and admired him throughout his journey from the Big Ten to the NFL.

Bill was a second-team All-Big Ten guard at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and helped Wisconsin win back-to-back Rose Bowl Championships in 1999 and 2000.

The Green Bay Packers selected him in the fourth round with the 105th overall pick in the 2001 NFL draft. However, the Packers waived him in 2003, and he signed with the Washington Redskins on February 4, 2004.

After being released from the Redskins, he signed with the Carolina Panthers on November 11, 2004, but did not play in any games that season. Later, the Panthers released him on August 28, 2005.

RIP Bill Ferrario
We all lost a great man. My prayers are with family and friends.
Thank you for being a part of my life. And thank you for everything you’ve done for me from high school up to when I was in the hospital. You will definitely be missed, my friend.

Bill Ferrario was Sentenced in a Domestic Abuse Case

Bill Ferrario received a withheld sentence after being charged with domestic abuse involving his then-wife, Stephanie L. Ferrario.

The couple has since divorced. They had two children, Chris Ferrario and Luciana Ferrario.

Bill’s charges stemmed from multiple incidents at his home in Wausau, Wisconsin, in January 2023. He was charged with domestic abuse, misdemeanor victim intimidation, and misdemeanor bail jumping.

According to reports, police were called to the residence on consecutive days. In one instance, officers found Ferrario outside the house, yelling at two women inside and throwing things at the garage.

Later, he was arrested for disorderly conduct and placed on probation for 18 months as part of his sentence.

The conditions require him to maintain absolute sobriety from drugs and alcohol, hold a full-time job or be a student, and have no violent or abusive contact with the victims.

This is not Bill’s first legal issue. He previously faced charges for a second OWI offense on October 12, 2022, where he lost control of his vehicle and crashed.
