The son of former football quarterback Bob Griese, Brian David Griese, was born in Miami, Florida on March 18, 1975.

He turned down a scholarship offer from his father’s alma mater, Purdue and Kentucky and went to the University of Michigan despite not being offered a scholarship.

After graduating from the University of Michigan in 1997 and playing college football for almost five years, Brian declared for the draft.

And unsurprisingly, he was drafted by the Denver Broncos in the third round of the 1998 NFL Draft.

With the Broncos, he became the Super Bowl champion the same year, even though he spent most of the season on the sidelines.

After John Elway’s retirement, Brian became the starting quarterback in 1999.

Following the 2002 season, Broncos released Brian and replaced him with Jake Plummer.

After that, Brian signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

However, because of a series of injuries, he was cut by the team in 2006.

During his Evansville’s Rex Mundi High School days, he excelled in a variety of sports, including baseball, football and basketball.

Bob earned 12 varsity letters for the Monarchs.

After high school, he went to Purdue University, where he became a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.

Similarly, he pitched for the Purdue baseball team and played kicker, quarterback and punter for the Purdue football team.
