Chase Young’s parents, Greg and Carla Young, always wanted their children to participate in sports events. Greg and Carla are parents to Chase and his older sister, Weslie.
If other parents are scared to make their children participate in contact sports, Carla Young was the complete opposite.
She had started to call the community center when Chase was two wanting her son to participate in sporting events.
Greg and Carla were strict parents and instilled discipline and hard work in their kids from a young age. The defensive end had already started to do laundry and lawn moaning by age ten.
Moreover, he was the first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and overall second choice only behind Joe Burrow. With Commanders choosing not to extend his fifth-year option, there have been rumors about Young being traded.

The athlete and his sister Weslie Young were taught self-discipline from a young age. Their father, Greg Young, is a retired police deputy from Virginia.

In 2020, Greg Young talked to KNN about draft day. Greg said he was relieved when he heard his son’s name being called, as they had been going at it for 16 years.
Greg was previously a collegiate basketball player at Bowie State University. He wanted to make it to the big leagues, but that move didn’t prosper.
Then he decided to join law enforcement. In his interview with KNN, Greg also gave insights into his son’s childhood days, saying the defensive end had always been a disciplined kid.
He also shared that his son wanted to become an FBI agent before becoming an athlete.
Greg also shared what advice he gave to Chase after he became an NFL player. The former police officer advised his son to become a role model for kids and though how tired he might be, always sign autographs for any kid he comes across.
Carla Young Worked In The Department Of Transportation
Chase Young’s mother, Carla Young, describes herself as a people person. The mother of two, Carla, said she simply loves supporting her kids.
Speaking to Washington Commanders YouTube channel in 2021, Carla said she loves volunteering with non-profit organizations.
Carla also admitted she had always been hard on Chase from a young age but, at the same time, defended him as well against his dad.
In 2021, the defensive end surprised his parents with brand-new cars. In the Instagram video shared by Chase, the NFL player can be seen taking his mother toward the car.
He then shared a second clip, where he surprised his father with a brand-new GMC.
Chase Young Sister Weslie Young Is A Former Basketball Player
Chase Young’s older sister Weslie Young played collegiate basketball at North Carolina Wesleyan University.
Standing at 5 ft 10, Weslie played as a forward for North Carolina before graduating in 2019. She played 72 games in three seasons averaging 10.9 minutes per game.
Weslie is two years older than her brother, and as kids growing up, the two siblings would train with their father.
The two also didn’t have a TV in their room, so they could solely focus on academics and sports.
Previously, Weslie and her family talked about the treatment of African-American families by law enforcement.
In an interview taken by the official NFL website, Chase shared he had previously been racially profiled.
Though Weslie hasn’t had such experiences, she believes this topic shouldn’t be buried, but she should be talked about more in the mainstream media.
