Clark Knobel Hunt is widely recognized for his leading role as the CEO of one of the NFL’s most decorated and successful teams, the Kansas City Chiefs.

Hunt was born on February 19, 1965, as the son of Norma and Lamar Hunt. He is also the grandson of oil tycoon H.L. Hunt. Clark went to Southern Methodist University, graduating with a business administration degree focusing on finance.

Moreover, upon graduation, he worked as an investment banker with Goldman Sachs, an elite-level financial advisory firm.

Similarly, he is also the founding investor-owner in Major League Soccer and previously owned the Columbus Crew. Clark is also the co-owner of FC Dallas of the MLS.

Under Hunt, Columbus won their first MLS Cup championship but sold the club to Precourt Sports Ventures in 2013.

The same goes with the Kansas City Chiefs; under Hunts’ guidance and leadership, the Chiefs have made the playoffs nine times, won the AFC West eight times, and made it to three Super Bowls, winning two.

To cut it short, it can be said that Clark has been the guiding light behind the resurgence of the Chiefs.

Daniel and Lamar Jr. are both American business kingpins, leaving their footprints in various American sports.

Lamar Hunt Jr. is the son of Lamar and Rose Mary Whittle Hunt, the first wife of Clark’s father.

Moreover, Lamar Jr. operates one non-profit and three commercial organizations, all under the Loretto Foundation. 

His foundation initializes on the development of commercial projects in Kansas City. Lamar is also the president and owner of the Kansas City Mavericks professional hockey team. 

Similarly, Daniel Hunt, often recognized as Dan, has been the president of FC Dallas since 2014. He is also a member of the MLS Board of Governors and the league’s Business Ventures Committee.

Likewise, Dan serves as the co-owner of FC Dallas alongside his older brother, Clark.

As Dallas is among the 16 cities that will host the World Cup in 2026, Dan is continuously making efforts to secure the hosting rights for the final World Cup game at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington.

Clark Hunt’s Personal Life

Hunt is tied in a married relationship with his wife, Tavia Shackles. 

Tavia is a former Miss Missouri Teen USA and Miss Kansas USA. Moreover, Clark and Tavia have been blessed with three children.

Tavia’s daughter, Gracie, clinched the Miss Kansas USA in 2021, winning the pageant 28 years after her mother.

Similarly, Clark’s grandfather, H.L. Hunt, had 15 children. His mother, Norma, passed away in 2023 and was the second wife of Lamar Hunt.

Interestingly, Norma is the only woman in history to have been to all of the first 57 Super Bowls.
