Clayton Murphy’s wife, Ariana Murphy, is the gold medalist of the 2017 World Championship. Ariana and Clayton first met at the 2016 Olympics.

The power couple of track and field, Clayton and Ariana first bonded over a game of Uno. A year after their meeting, the couple went official with their relationship.

A year after that, they got engaged, and a year later, they tied the knot. And last year, they welcomed their first child, Cash, in October.

Ariana is yet to return to the outfield at an international level and last competed for the University of Oregon. 

But Clayton is continuing his dominance on the track. The Olympic medalist finished third in the USATF Championship in the 800m event and had his better half and his son cheer him on in the stadium.

Anna Hall and Elise Cranny were two big winners in the USATF competition, as both the ladies finished first in their respective events. 

Clayton Murphy Wife, Ariana Murphy

Clayton Murphy’s wife, Ariana Murphy, is a three-time NCAA Champion and a track and field star in her own right. 

Born on August 27, 1996, Ariana was born and raised in Single Hill, California, and graduated from Long Beach Poly High School. 

At Long Beach, Ariana was the six-time track and field news All-American and won California State Championship eight times, tying with Alyson Felix.

She also became the only second person in California’s history to win three-straight double state championships in the 100 and 200. In 2014, in her senior year of high school, Ariana won the Gatorade California Track and Field Athlete of the Year award. 

Ariana then enrolled at the University of Oregon, competing in all four years. Ariana finished first in 100m and 200m races in her freshman year.

In 2016, Ariana competed in the US Olympic Trials, and though she didn’t qualify, the California native was part of the relay team 4×100 representing the US in the Olympics. 

In 2017, Ariana tasted her first success on the international stage at a senior level. With her relay team, Ariana won gold at the 2017 World Championship.

Previously, Ariana had won gold as part of the 2014 World Junior Championship in the same category. 

Clayton And Ariana Murphy Relationship

Clayton and Ariana Murphy first met in 2016 in US Track and Field Athletes Lounge in the Rio Olympic Village.

The two track and field stars bonded over a game of Uno and soon began officially dating. It was only a year later, the couple became Instagram official.

In 2017, Clayton and Ariana shared an appreciation post for each other with the same photograph of Clayton carrying her behind his back. 

The post might have come right after Ariana qualified for the 2017 World Championship. Many of their friends and fans in the comment section were taken by surprise by the two confirming their relationship. 

Ari And Clayton Take The Next Step In Their Relationship

A year after becoming Instagram official, Ariana and Clayton shared the exciting news of their engagement. 

On June 29, 2018, the two shared a series of pictures as Ariana showed off her engagement ring. The proposal took place at Auberge Resorts in California. 

Clayton captioned the post, “I pulled off the biggest surprise of her life. She is forever mine. Partners in crime for life.”

Similarly, in her shared pictures, Ariana wrote how a simple vacation turned into the best moment with her best friend. 

One and a half year, after the proposal, the couple tied the knot on December 7, 2019, in Napa, California. Ariana shared a beautiful wedding video two weeks after the ceremony. 

The video showed them seeing each other for the first time in the wedding outfit to walking down the aisle.

Clayton And Ariana Became Parents In 2022

The two athletes experienced parenthood for the first time in October 2022. But childbirth was a painful process for the couple. 

Their son, Cash, was born at only 27 weeks, which in medical terms is considered an extremely preterm infant. In a post shared by Ariana, the track star wrote they were in disbelief that they had a healthy baby boy.

But Cash had to be kept in NICU for 65 days and was discharged just before Christmas. The little miracle spent his first Christmas with his mom and dad in their new home. 

Since then, Ariana has shared a few snaps of their adorable son, and Cash has already traveled to track fields to cheer for his dad.
