Pre Hawaii Career

Colt originally spent a year at the University of Colorado as a redshirt. However, he has kicked off the team. It was because a female CU student accused him of entering the dorm without consent, exposing himself, and fondling her.

He was intoxicated at the time, so he was arrested and convicted of felony burglary and trespassing charges. However, a lack of evidence made him innocent of unlawful sexual contact.

He even passed the polygraph test about the incident. He showed those results and transferred to Saddleback College in California in 2004.

Colt helped lead Saddleback College to a Conference Championship. In that season, he was named honorable mention JUCO All-America, state offensive player of the year by the JuCal Transfer, and first-team all-conference for his performance.

He repaired his image well to get offers from the University of Hawaii and San Jose State University. He wanted to put some distance between himself and his past problems, so he accepted the offer from the University of Hawaii head coach June Jones.
