Fans love their idol, not for his height or weight but for the skills he shows in the course. Knost is a fantastic golf player who has been recognized worldwide.

Since Colt is a June baby, he falls under the zodiac sign of Cancer. They are known for their loyalty, commitment, and laid-back lifestyle.

Colt Knost | Early Life & Family

Hailing from Garrettsville, Ohio, Knost is the dear son of proud mama Luann Knost and late father, Don Paul.

His father died in a car accident when Colt was 19 months old, so he hardly recognizes him. Even though Knost never consciously saw his dad, he changed his name to Colt Christopher Paul Knost in his honor.

But his legal name is still Colt Knost. After baby Colt turned four, his family moved to Texas, where he grew up.

Luann was also a golfer, but she never became professional. The mother of a retired golfer was highly content when little Colt started showing interest in golf.

Similarly, when he was twelve, baby Knost first played the game with two of his then-best friends.

He loved visiting Garrettsville to play golf with his remaining family members.

Golf players in Northeast Ohio recall the young boy with the exceptional blow and the astonishing distance. They had the feeling that baby Colt was going to be a great golfer someday.

Colt, as a kid, was especially close to his mom’s cousin and her husband. They are Diane Trautman and Tom Trautman.

Uncle Tom was the man who took Knost to his golf sessions and made him practice as a kid in the summer when Colt visited him.

Tom and Dianne have followed Knost’s career and are always supportive of his close family.

Currently, he lives in a beautiful house in Scottsdale.

According to his mother, he also played soccer, basketball, and football, but he liked golf the most.

As for his education, Colt went to Pilot Point High School. Son of Luann won his opening game in high school freshman year.

Colt Knost | Early Career Highlights

Knost graduated from Southern Methodist University. At SMU, he started fantastically and received all-conference and all-region credits.

After that, he earned three United States Golf Association actions; he was among Bobby Jones and Jay Sigel as the only players.

Eventually, he earned the U.S. Amateur, 2 & 1 in the contradiction of Michael Thompson.

The same year, he got an interesting opportunity to represent the United States at the 2007 Walker Cup, where he displayed a flying record of 2-0-2 (W-L-H).

Colt frolicked in three dealings on the PGA Tour as an expert. First, the talented golfer went to the licensed department to receive his PGA Tour card for the next year. But sadly, his finish of T-85 was not adequate.

Shortly after that, Knost engaged in the Countrywide Trip in 2008 and earned the Fort Smith Classic and the Price Cutter Charity Championship awards.

Colt Knost | Rough Years

Colt finished sixth on the money list and finally earned his PGA Tour card. But this did not end up very well for him.

The reason is that Knost only made 11 of 24 cuts, so he made it on the 193rd money list and returned to a countrywide trip the following year.

Things at this moment weren’t going very well for Knost, but like how there is light at the end of the tunnel, he earned a PGA Tour card again.

The year 2012 and 2013 wasn’t good year for Colt’s career as he struggled very hard to retain the PGA tour card. This made him zone back to the Web.com Tour.

Knost didn’t want to stay on the Web.com tour, so eventually, he worked really hard to get back on the PGA tour for 2015.

As hard work beats any talent and luck, he successfully got on the tour again in the year 2015. That year Colt finished the season with a better ranking and made it to another year with the tour card.

Colt missed the 2020 Waste Management Phoenix Open cut, so he announced his retirement from professional golf.

Per his 2019-20 PGA tour season stats, his driving distance was 276.0, driving accuracy was 65.48%, greens in regular percentage was 54.63%, and the scoring average was 72.970.

Colt Knost | After Retirement

Knost clearly disliked all the hurdles and definitively wanted a more chilled-back lifestyle. Due to this reason, he clearly wanted to be retired at a very young age.

According to a former golf player, he wanted to do other things too, but since he had to be very dedicated in practice, Colt wasn’t able to.

Colt now hosts a podcast with Golf.com named “GOLFs Subpar” alongside the other former professional golfer Drew Stoltz.

Both former players successfully run the show for a year and are looking forward to year 2.

Colt and Drew are pleased and content with what they do. Knost couldn’t believe that his podcast has received so many positive responses.

He also mentioned that he is grateful for all the listeners and will come with big things in season 2.

Moreover, the duo invites different golfers, former players, coaches, managers, and people closely related to this game.

As the podcast is always fun and isn’t monotonous, it has successfully grabbed many fan followers.

Recently they interviewed professional golfer Scott Stallings on their podcast, where Colt asked him whether Stallings worried that his weight loss might affect his performance.

Stallings replied, “There’s probably always in the back of your mind, like, man, I’m making some huge changes.

As of 2022, Colt Knost and Drew Stoltz have had a huge year with Golf Subpar with more storylines of the Gold world.
