With a record of 9-1-3 in his kickboxing debut, Hooker won the King in the Ring Middleweight Kickboxing Championship and WKBF X-Rules Welterweight Championship.

Although Hooker was already a professional MMA fighter and a kick-boxer, he made his first UFC debut on 28 June 2014 against Ian Entswide, another debut fighter.
