An American football coach, Dave Canales, serves as the offensive coordinator of the National Football League (NFL) team, Tampa Bay Buccaneers. 

Previously a footballer, the Carson High School graduate played collegiately at Azusa Pacific University before transitioning into a coach. 

Initially, Dave began his career as the head coach and offensive coordinator at Carson High School, his alma mater, from 2004 to 2005. 

Over the years, he expanded his coaching experience at El Camino College and USC, nurturing players to attain remarkable heights. 

Further, perpetuating to a greater level, the coach moved into the NFL, joining in as an assistant coach of the Seattle Seahawks.

After serving Seattle for a decade, Dave joined his current team on February 16, 2023. 

Dave Canales Parents: Isaac And Ritha

Born on May 7, 1981, Dave Canales is one of three kids of his father, Isaac, and mother, Ritha Canales.

Dave’s parents have played an instrumental role in shaping his views and faith, ultimately guiding him toward the right path.

His father, Isaac, who had a harsh childhood, contracted polio at an early age and nearly died, which left his right arm with restricted use.

Despite growing up in the poorest barrio of Los Angeles, his dad eventually made his way to the prestigious university, Harvard.

Upon graduating, he returned home to run the family church, Misson Ebenezer Family Chruch, founded by Dave’s grandparents, Rev. Miguel and Lupe Canales, in 1959.

After working as a head pastor for over four decades, his father retired, and Dave’s brother, Josh, took over.

Moreover, Dave’s mother, Ritha, an assistant pastor, works in the church’s human resource development.

Nonetheless, the family truly abides by the principles of god, and rooted in their belief, they preach about the greatness of the lord.

All About His Two Brothers, Josh and Coba

A native of Harbor City, California, Dave Canales grew up alongside his older brother, Josh, and younger brother, Coba Canales. Interestingly, they all have a background in the sports.

Dave’s brother, Joshua Brubaker Canales (b: January 15, 1979), nicknamed Josh, previously played collegiate baseball for the UCLA Bruins.

Despite being drafted in the 2001 MLB Draft by the LA Dodgers, he never debuted in the major league. Instead, he succeeded his father as head pastor after his retirement in April 2019.

Talking about his personal life, he leads a joyous married life along with his Nigerian-American wife, Bunmi. Embracing parenthood, the two share three children- Elisha, Judah, and Adelola.

They first met in an athletic training room at UCLA, where she participated in track and field.

Likewise, Dave’s brother, Jacob Canales (b: April 22, 1984), nicknamed Coba, is a former collegiate football and baseball player.

Initially, he committed to the University of Pennsylvania but later joined the Azusa Pacific University.

Regarding his education, Coba holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies and a Doctorate in Education. Now, he serves as a Dean of Students at Azusa Pacific University, his alma mater.
