Deivi Garcia | Early Life

Starting with the basics, Deivi Garcia was born on May 19, 1999, in the Bonao Dominican Republic. He did not grow alone in the family as he has his two older brothers by his side.

Although we are not aware of his mother’s and father’s name, his father remained a youth baseball coach, and his mother remains a doctor.

Well, that’s a different thing that his mother dropped her career to raise kids and family. Moreover, his father also gave him the basic tutorials.

Also, Pedro Martinez remained his idol since his childhood. Deivi always looked up to him. Well, despite a million trials, nothing could be extracted about his educational background.

Deivi Garcia | Professional Career

He has shown up for major and winter leagues before getting drafted into NFL.

Deivi signed up a contract with the New York Yankees in July 2015  that offered him a signing bonus of $2,00,000 and starting playing both as an infielder and outfielder.

He was considered worthy because of his arm strength, pitches, and poise, which ultimately turned out to be good to get big league hitters out even though he did not have any good Triple-A numbers.

Yankees played a major role in nourishing him as a baseball pitcher but worthwhile, Deivi was enrolled for other minor leagues too.

We will surely get back to Yankees and Deivi’s stint back again together but first, let’s list out the other leagues.

Deivi joined Charleston RiverDogs of the Class A South Atlantic League, also known as Sally League. and later moved to Tampa Tarpons of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League in the 2018 season.

For the same year, he ended up joining the Trenton Thunder of the Class AA Eastern League.

Deivi again jumped back to Tampa Tampons in 2019, making four starts for the squad.  Later, he drove back to Trenton. In July, he was chosen to play in the  All-Star Futures Game, an annual baseball exhibition game hosted by MLB.

Deivi again shifted to yet minor league named  Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders of the Class AAA International League.

Second Stint with the Yankees

And here he was, back again with the Yankees, his second-stint, grabbing a post on the 40-man roster, a major league baseball roster.

And this time, the Yankees were totally trying to mold the 20-year old guy to a tough player who could play alongside countrymen Luis Severino and Domingo Germa.

Deivi showed off that potential who could dive straight into the big leagues from minor league posts like High-A Tampa Yankees. Deivi was counted in for his ultra-manta, like, “If someone can hit him, he will tip his hat to them.”

It’s an almighty surprise to see Deiva pitching beyond his age. Rather than securing a safe side, he opts to throw free without getting scared, knowing that his pitches will surely get him through.

Not only that but Deivi was also titled the minor league pitcher of the year in the Yankees organization in 2019. Well, that was a great goodbye to 2019.

Furthermore, the Yankees recruited him to their training site in the earlies of 2020.

Deiva got to play his major debut with the Yankees on August 30. He scored six strikeouts and pitched six innings on 75 pitches, permitting four singles. He stood an opener for the 2020 American League Divison Series’ Game 2.

According to the MLB pipeline, Deiva ranked number 3 prospect from number 4 entering this year.

And if we talk about overall prospect per Fangraphs, he ranks in No. 42. He was also invited to pitch against the New York Mets and left the viewers with an impressive impact.

At present, Deivi Garcia has been surrounded by trade rumors. Apparently, New York Yankees are on the line for him.

Deivi Garcia | Personal Life

Coming to the personal aspects of his aspects, many would love to know about his girlfriend, friends, and living style. So, here’s a quick review of his personal life.

After a thorough scanning all over the internet searches, we could not find any hook-ups, rumors, or affairs about him.

We guess he is single and unmarried for sure and also strictly conscious about his career in MLB.

On-the-field

Because issues like this can seriously divert his attention from his work ethic, things also might turn into another way around. It might be that Deivi is into some private relation and does not want to share in public.

Talking about his friends and so-called roommates, two in one precisely, Deiva has been sharing his space with Wendell Rijo, Yankees farmhand, and Adonis Rosa, the right-hander.

Rosa also becomes an instant cook if they are not ordering pizza. Also, the common thing between the golden trio is that they are all Dominicans.

Additionally, Deivi is also a champ when it comes to video games. According to Rijo, Deivi is too young to hang out in the clubs, so they settle for playing video games in their apartments. And trust him, he is not at all lying.

Not just that, if Deivi had a chance to become a video game pitcher. He would just knock it off. And no one could stop the Yankees world just rule the baseball kingdom.

Erik Kratz calls Deivi, his son. Check this out.

Aligning with the information available at Courant.com, Deivi did not have his family by his side during his major league debut.

This year is quite a shortened season for all the players out there due to the widespread coronavirus pandemic. However, fortunately, Erik Kratz, the 40-year old professional catcher, did not let his son Deivi feel his family’s absence.

Erik was prudent enough to tell the cameras about his excitement to go out and play the catch with his son. The two have always responded to each other by calling Dad and son. Also, the duo has broken the record as the battery mates with a huge age gap.
