During his career as a player, he won the NBA championship and was named to the NBA All-Star ten times.

Kidd announced his retirement after playing for 19-long-year and started working as a coach.

Since he started his coaching career in 2013, he has worked for teams like Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, and Dallas Mavericks.

Not to mention, he also won the NBA championship as a coach during his time with the Lakers in 2020.

Moreover, the two times Olympic gold medalist was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018.

Does Jason Kid Have a Brother? His Siblings

Jason Kidd doesn’t have a brother of his own but has two sisters, Denise Kidd and Kim Kidd.

Jason and sister Denise grew up in California and remained there for most of their early life.

Their father, Steve, worked at Trans World Airlines, and their mother, Anne, worked as a computer programmer at the Bank of America. Having a good job allowed Steve and Anne to give their children a comfortable life.

Unfortunately, there is not much information available about his sisters, as both of them lead a very private and secretive lifestyle.

Being related to one of the most renowned former players and coaches, it is obvious that people get curious to know about their personal lives.

But both of Kidd’s sisters are not on any social media platform, making it further hard to find any information about them.

Jason Considers Dirk Nowitzki His Brother

The Mavericks head coach does not have a brother, but he has mentioned a couple of times that he considers his former teammate and Mavericks legend, Dirk Nowitzki, his brother.

Dirk Nowitzki is a German former professional basketball player who is a special advisor for the Mavericks.

Kidd and Nowitzki played together with the Mavericks for four seasons and were very close to one another. Their bond got more potent over time.

Further explaining their friendship, when the Mavericks honored Dirk Nowitzki by retiring his jersey and unveiling a statue model on January 5, 2022, Jason offered his old teammate a surprising deal.

Jason Kidd put forward a 10-day contract to Nowitzki, which made the whole crowd burst into laughter. And the Mavericks legend, Dirk, also laughed it off, fervently shaking off the notion and turning down the proverbial offer.

This show how much love and appreciation Jason has for his “brother” Dirk Nowitzki.
