Rob Van Dam Arrested For Possession Of Marijuana
On July 3, 2006, Van Dam and Terry Brunk (known as Sabu) had been detained the night before on US Route 52 in Hanging Rock, Ohio.
An Ohio State Highway Patrol officer stopped RVD for speeding and discovered that he was in possession of 18 grams of marijuana and five Vicodin pills.
Van Dam and Brunk were both released after paying bail and were due to appear in Ironton Municipal Court on July 6.
Furthermore, the wrestler pleaded guilty to speeding and marijuana possession on August 31. However, the allegation of Vicodin possession was dropped after he showed a prescription.
Hence he received a $140 fine and court costs, but he seems unfazed as he is a staunch supporter of cannabis and its products.
The wrestler has spoken about the issue in many media outlets, including MSNBC, where he battled former U.S. “drug czar” Barry McCaffrey.
Van Dam is a cannabis user who believes it to be a booster for athletic performance. Also, his personal marijuana addiction has been reflected in his wrestling persona.
