Sometime in the late 1990s, Dustin’s parents got divorced. Then, Austin moved in with their mother, and Dustin and Laurie continued to live with their father.

At the age of six, Dustin Johnson’s father introduced him to the game of golf. He very quickly became enamored with the sport and began playing golf recreationally.

Even though he was in seventh grade, he managed to make the varsity team at Irmo High School.

After his parents’ divorce, Dustin was very seriously affected by the interruption and was transferred to Dutch Fork High School.

In his second year at Dutch Fork, Dustin Johnson began skipping classes while still enrolled in classes.

Additionally, he joined an older teen group and was forced to participate in a burglary attempt by them, aiding them in pawning the stolen things. He was later detained, but after the restitution was paid, he was released.

In his senior year, Dustin came to the realization that he needed to focus on his studies if he wanted to achieve his dream of competing on the PGA Tour, as it was customary to play in college first.

So, he made the decision to turn around and work really hard. And there was no turning back.
