Nathan Suter, a dedicated track athlete and coach of Haverford College, passed away suddenly on May 13, 2025, at the age of 52 due to a heart attack.

As an athlete, Nathan was a fierce competitor. He excelled in track and cross-country, qualifying twice for the NCAA championships in Montpelier’s steeplechase and cross-country events.

Further, his passion for coaching was evident in his dedication to working with others. Most recently, he collaborated with local coaches to organize a summer track meet series.

Family And Friends Mourn The Loss Of Nathan Suter

For those who wish to support Nathan’s family during this difficult time, a GoFundMe page has been set up to help with the financial burden.

Nathan Suter is survived by his wife, Morgan Lloyd, and their two children, Amani and Asa, who were the center of his world.

Just a few weeks before his sudden passing, Nathan Suter was actively organizing a fundraiser in April 2025 to support the athletes he cared so deeply about.

His goal was simple but meaningful: to make sure every athlete on the team received a track jacket, regardless of their financial situation.

In his words, track jackets weren’t just clothing since they helped build team identity and a sense of belonging.

Nathan emphasized that no one should feel left out, especially the more than 20 new team members who didn’t yet have a jacket.

With 58 athletes on the roster and jackets costing about $65 each, he set out to raise over $1,300 to cover the costs.

He encouraged even the smallest donations, knowing that every dollar contributed would help make every young athlete feel like part of something bigger.

Moreover, Robb Kidd shared that the Montpelier community has lost an incredible person. As his son’s track coach, Nathan Suter encouraged and motivated him to reach his full potential.

While no amount of money can replace someone like Nathan, Robb emphasized that offering financial support to Nathan’s family is the least the community can do during such a difficult time.

The Montpelier community lost an incredible soul. As my son’s track coach he encouraged him to be the best he could be.
I realize that money can’t ever replace him, but it would be the least we can do to help his family in this time of loss.

Moreover, Alex Lloyd shared that his brother-in-law, Nathan Suter, passed away suddenly.

Alex expressed how much it would mean to him and the family for anyone to offer support, no matter the amount.

On Tuesday morning my brother in-law, Nathan, died suddenly…I’m still speechless, which for those of you who know me probably says how shocking and tragic this is. We have started a GoFundMe to help support my sister and her two children, it would mean a lot to me.

Alex Lloyd

Our deepest condolences go out to the family and loved ones of Nathan Suter during this challenging time.
