American former high school wrestler Mack Beggs is now working with TBOY Wrestling, an organization dedicated to supporting transgender athletes.
Mack Beggs is a transgender man who gained national attention as a high school wrestler in Texas.
Although he identifies as a man, he was forced to compete in the girls’ division due to state regulations that required participation based on birth certificate records.
Having undergone testosterone therapy as part of his transition, Beggs won the Texas state girls’ wrestling championship in 2017 and 2018.

After winning the title for two consecutive years, he remained undefeated throughout both seasons.
Following the victory in high school, Beggs pursued collegiate wrestling at Life University in Georgia.
He delayed his first year and did not compete in the 2018–2019 season due to undergoing a double mastectomy.
In 2021, he retired from collegiate wrestling and focused on mixed martial arts (MMA), aiming to become the first openly transgender man to compete in the UFC.
Following that, in 2023, Beggs accepted a challenge from former UFC fighter Jake Shields, indicating his intention to pursue a professional MMA career.
After Retiring From Collegiate Wrestling, Champion Mack Beggs Now Works With TBOY Wrestling and Advocates for His Community!
While Mack has not yet succeeded in becoming the first trans man to compete in UFC, he is still working toward his dream.
As of September 2025, Mack is now working with TBOY Wrestling Company, a Los Angeles-based wrestling event organized by queer social group Trans Dudes of LA (TDLA), which centers trans men and transmasculine people.
In the company, he mentors young wrestlers, shares his experiences, and helps foster a safe and encouraging environment for all competitors.
Along with the TBOY Wrestling, Beggs also works as the vocal advocate for transgender rights, raising awareness and voices for the trans people.
He continues to speak out on issues affecting the transgender community, particularly in sports, and has used his platform to challenge misconceptions and promote equality.
Beggs also maintains a strong presence on social media, mainly on Instagram, where he shares updates on his work, training, and advocacy efforts.
Even after retiring from competition, he remains committed to making a difference and empowering others to follow their passions without fear and limitation.
