Jaden was born on September 25, 2002, to his parents, Barbarita Springer, and Gary Springer Sr.

He grew up with his four siblings- three brothers: Gary Jr, Jamie & Jordan, and a sister named Taniqua.

Jaden’s father and two older brothers extensively checked his athleticism. They are nailed with heights of 6’7″ (2 m) or taller; Jaden is 6’4” (1.93 m).

Gray Springer (his father) played collegiate basketball at Iona College from 1980 to 1984, after late coach Jim Valvano recruited him. He was the player who got every rebound, as in the fourth all-time leading scorer and third all-time leading rebounder.

Also, Gary was the sixth-round pick of the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1984 NBA draft but could not play officially due to a severe knee injury.

High School & College Career

Springer played varsity basketball for Lighthouse Christian School in Antioch, Tennessee as an eighth-grade student. He averaged 19 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.

He opted to play the first two years of his high school at Rocky River High School in Mint Hill, North Carolina. As reported, the school’s head basketball coach Jermaine Walker took him in despite some academic and disciplinary concerns.

And the call was worth it! As a freshman, Jaden notched 21.8 points, 9.4 rebounds, and five assists per game, leading his school team to its first state tournament appearance.

In the following year, as a sophomore, he notched 24.7 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.4 steals, and 2.4 blocks per game, leading his team to reach the Class 4A state semifinals.

Not only that but Jaden was also titled Southwestern 4A Player of the Year. He switched his high school to IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, for the rest of the high school season.

He became part of the country’s best teams and teammates with top recruits Armando Bacot, Josh Green, and Jeremiah Robinson-Earl.

To count on his junior year scorings, Jaden finished with 15.6 points, four rebounds, and four assists per game, leading his team to the GEICO High School Nationals title.

In his senior season, Springer averaged 17.4 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.1 assists per game for IMG. He played throughout the season despite suffering an ankle injury and was removed from some games.

Jaden had scholarship opportunities from North Carolina, Memphis, Florida, and Michigan alongside Tennessee, but he chose Tennessee.

On January 2, 2021, during a loss to Alabama, Jaden Springer left midway after suffering from a left ankle injury. It left Tennessee’s fans appalled and worried about their shooting guard.
