James Bouknight | Early Life & Nationality 

Bouknight (fully named James David Bouknight) was born on September 18, 2000, under Virgo’s sun sign to his parents, Patty Leo and John Bouknight.

Furthermore, he is the youngest of three children and has an elder brother and a sister.

During his tenure in high school, he had posted an average of 17.4 points per game, which helped him bag the tournament’s most valuable player (MVP).

Furthermore, the very title also led his high school’s team to the New York Federation Class B state championship. 

Following it, Bouknight successfully claimed the Catholic High School Athletic Association B Division MVP.

MacDuffie School 

Later, James Bouknight gained less exposure; he was transferred to the MacDuffie School in Granby, Massachusetts. As he entered the school, he worked under coach Jacque Rivera. 

Overall, he ended his high school days with an average of  19.3 points and 5.0 rebounds. As a high schooler, he had even suffered a knee injury (torn meniscus), which kept him away from the games for a whole season.

After two years at MacDuffie School, Bouknight came to UConn, joining the UConn Huskies men’s basketball.

Altogether, Bouknight had offers from all over, such as Virginia Tech, Miami (Florida), Temple, Indiana, and VCU. But, in the end, he devoted himself to UConn during his 18th birthday.

Advancing on, Bouknight had played for 31 games as a freshman. Likewise, he recorded an average of 13.0 points, 4.1 rebounds, shooting.

Later, he entered the sophomore year as the starting lineup and blossomed into one of the American Conference’s top players.

The 11th pick selected the basketball player in the 2021 NBA draft by the Charlotte Hornets. Likewise, on August 3, he officially signed with the Charlotte Hornet.

James Bouknight | Injury 

As an athlete, you can never be sure of the next moment standing beside you, nor can you be sure of what’s happening.

Similar to the case, James Bouknight fell into an injury in January 2021 when playing in the first half at Marquette.

As for the injury’s details, Bouknight faced it when he collapsed with his opponent, Koby McEwen. As they collided, Koby fell upon the left arm of James.

Thus, James had braced for the arm and was seen practicing with only one arm. 

Later, with the doctor’s consult, they stated that his arm required surgery. However, they haven’t yet revealed what the surgery is about or when they will have it.

Therefore, James is supposed to be out of the games for like 4 to 6 weeks and is not a season-ending surgery.

According to the news, James entered the NBA Draft right after just a year’s tenure with the UConn Huskies. However, later cleared by his coach and himself, they stated that it is early to enroll in the NBA Draft. 

Additionally, Bouknight also added that he wouldn’t be leaving UConn’s side this early. 

Car Crash 

In November 2019, Bouknight was involved in a car crash, which quickly spread the news.

As per the source, Bouiknight was traveling in a car for which he did not have a license with full speed. Thus, he collided with a car into a street sign near campus. 

However, instead of taking responsibility, he quickly fled the crime scene. Also, as per the car’s owner, she stated she was drunk and had given Bouknight permission to ride it.  

Altogether, the police officers had bought an arrest warrant, as Bouknight also reeked of alcohol that night. Later, Bouknight turned himself in for the incident and even apologized for his foolish act. 

Altogether, Bouknight faces a three-game suspension over allegations. He missed the games against Sacred Heart, Saint Joseph, and Florida.
