After his college suspension, Jason Williams entered the 1998 NBA Draft, where the Sacramento Kings selected him in the first round as the seventh overall pick. 

Later in 2005, he was traded to the Miami Heats, the most considerable trade in league history. With the team, Jason became the third-leading scorer and one of the only three players on the team with over 100 three-point baskets for the season.
