Jordan Wiggins | Career Before Demise
Wiggins was a very bright student, and he had numerous offers from different universities. The colleges were dying to pick him up and add him to their football team.
FAMU even had him on their radar, but it wasn’t the best choice on Jordan’s list of universities he wanted to attend.
So he went to Georgia Southern University in December of 2018 with a major in electrical engineering.
The 285-pound footballer was studying at the university located in Statesboro, Georgia. Wiggins was keenly interested in mathematics and physics along with sportsmanship.
Moreover, Rattlers head coach Willie Simmons was well aware of his expertise. Simmons also had a link with Godby head coach Brandon McCray.
However, a sad incident took place in 2017 as Jordan’s mother, Althea Jones, died.
As he was without a parent, his coach, McCray’s momma Katherine Pondexter took him in all through his last two years of high school.
Wiggins was redshirting on the football team ‘The Eagles’ that season. The Eagles were listed to play New Mexico State at home shortly after his entry.

Jordan was unresponsive when the police arrived. After that, he was immediately transported to East Georgia Regional Medical Center, where Wiggins was pronounced dead.
According to the Bulloch County Coroner, it is confirmed that the footballer ended his life by himself, and it was an act of suicide. He also texted his friends and family before taking such a big step; apparently, Jordan missed his mother.
Wiggins overdosed on Benadryl, and an over-the-counter antihistamine frequently used to treat allergy indications.
After the incident, Georgia Southern emailed a statement that read that their thoughts are with the student’s family, friends, and classmates.
His coach from high school, who also adopted the late player, was devastated by the news.
Eagles canceled the practice session and took their time to grieve.

“Although he has only been on campus for a few months, Jordan has left an indelible mark on our program. He was a great person, a great teammate, and a great friend to the entire Georgia Southern Community.”
Chad Lunsford also talked greatly about the deceased star and his decision to end his life.
“If he was indeed struggling with some personal issues, I wish the resources that we currently provide our students could have helped more. Our thoughts and prayers go out to everyone this is affecting.”
Jordan Wiggins | Net Worth
As Wiggins was starting his career, his net worth was unclear. He might have received a few cash prizes from all the honors he can bag. But the exact amount is still unknown.
If he had decided not to quit life and continue to be a football player, he would have had a great future ahead.
He could have been on the list of the highest-paid footballer in America. Jordan had the potential to reach where players like James Laurinaitis, Reggie Wayne, and Emeke Egbule have reached.
Sadly this will never happen. May the departed soul rest in peace.
