Giddey was a student at St. Kevin’s College in Melbourne. And he soon became an emerging basketball star for Australia.
He then joined the NBA Global Academy, a basketball training center in Canberra.

Giddey signed with the Adelaide 36ers in March 2020 in the National Basketball League (NBL).
At the Oklahoma City Thunder
Josh Giddey declared himself available for the NBA Draft in April 2021. And, in July 2021, he was picked by the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Giddey signed a contract with the Thunder on August 8. And unfortunately, he suffered an ankle injury the same day, just a few minutes into his NBA Summer League debut.
The Aussie shooting guard was thus ruled out for the rest of the tournament to avoid additional injury.
In October, Giddey finally made his debut in the NBA. He scored 4 points, 3 assists, and made 10 rebounds. However, this came in a loss to Utah Jazz.
