Julian Erosa | Early Life & Family 

Erosa (fully named Julian Ricardo Dulican Erosa) was born on July 31, 1989, under Leo’s sun sign in Seattle, Washington.

Apparently, Erosa is the eldest son of Debbie Erosa and Ricardo Erosa and has a younger sibling named Ricky Erosa. However, they later moved to Yakima, and that was where he grew up.

Julian Erosa | Amateur Career

During his tenure in the Yakima MMA, he met the legendary coach Rich Guerin, who had previously trained former world champion Miesha Tate and UFC standout Bryan Caraway.

Also, with a coach like him, he fell deeper for the sport and continued to fight his way. 

By the end of his amateur career in 2010, Erosa had maintained an impressive amateur record of 10-0, where he had straight nine wins. Advancing on, Erosa started professionally the same year. 

Back then, he fought pout mostly in the Pacific Northwest region, in the CageSport promotion. Ultimately, he posted a record of 7–0.

Following it, he stepped into the CageSport Featherweight Championship, where he stood up against Ryan Mulvihill for the vacant title. 

On April 28, 2012, in CageSport 19, Erosa bagged the title but could not defend it over Drew Brokenshire at CageSport 22 on December 1, 2012.

later in the year, Julian Erosa lost the biggest support of his life, his father. It was the week before his fifth amateur fight; he lost his father due to brain cancer.

The Ultimate Fighter

Following his simultaneous win via third-round submission, Erosa became part of The Ultimate Fighter. Initially, he took the victory over Jason Soares (a Unanimous decision) during The Ultimate Fighter: Team McGregor vs. Team Faber. 

For the event, he advanced to the semi-finals after defeating Mehdi Baghdad (majority decision) and Abner Lloveras (split decision).

Unfortunately, he lost the semi-finals over Artem Lobov (first-round knockout). 

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC)

Erosa had his promotional debut with the UFC on December 11, 2015, during The Ultimate Fighter: Team McGregor vs. Team Faber Finale. In fact, Erosa took his debut win over Marcin Wrzosek.

Cagesport 

Following it, Erosa fought for various organizations like Prime Fighting and Cage Sports. During the tenure, Erosa had claimed the Featherweight title over Austing Springer.

Furthermore, he even bagged the Lightweight title in the Cagesport. 

Later, in June 2018, Dana White’s Contender Series 11, Julian faced Jamall Emmers in Las Vegas. Ultimately, he won the fight via knockout.

Coming back to UFC, on November 10, 2018, Erosa faced Devonte Smith under the main event, UFC Fight Night: Korean Zombie vs. Rodríguez. Unfortunately, he had an unsuccessful start.

On March 9, 2019, Erosa faced Grant Dawson (KGD) under the event UFC on ESPN+ 4: Lewis vs. Dos Santos.

As the fight took place at INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas, United States, it was aired live on prelims.

Well, Erosa had his second loss through a unanimous decision (30-26, 30-27, 29-27). Thus, he was shortly released from the promotion.

As one of his recent fights, Julian Erosa fought against the Korean fighter, Seung Woo Choi in June 2021. Well, their match took place at the event of UFC Fight Night: Korean Zombie vs. Ige at UFC APEX.
