Kei Kamara | Early Life
Kamara (fully named Kei Ansu Kamara) was born on 1 September 1984 under Virgo’s sun sign to his parent, Fatima Kamara. Furthermore, he was born in the second-largest city in Sierra Leone, Kenema.
Like an action movie, Kamara has his early childhood narration. Amidst his childhood, his mother won a 1990 immigration lottery and left for Los Angeles to help support the family.
Right afterward, she sent him to live with his aunt and cousins, Sierra Leone’s civil war between its army and anti-government rebels commenced.

Few years into and Kamara fled Sierra Leone with his family and moved to the Gambia when he was 14. That was the very place where he waited two years before finally reuniting with his mother.
At first, he moved to Baltimore, where his uncle resides, and by the age of 16, he moved to Los Angeles as part of a refugee program.
Nearly a decade later, Kamara had united with his mother and thus, started attending California State University, Dominguez Hills as an American citizen.

Kamara started his club career right after college. The foremost club he worked with is Columbus Crew after selecting him in the first round, ninth overall at the 2006 MLS SuperDraft. He spent two seasons with that club, where he had 36 gameplays.
