Inspired by his mother’s basketball journey, Keon’s basketball passion got a shaping after attending the Webb School in Bell Buckle, Tennessee.

While in junior high school season, Johnson led the team to the Division II-A state semifinals. His senior year stopped after he suffered a season-ending meniscus injury.

By the end of his high school career, he was a five-star prospect & was the highest-ranked player in Tennessee for the 2020 class.

Over the offers from Virginia, Vanderbilt, Florida & Auburn, he committed to the University of Tennessee in August 2019 & enrolled the following year.

On July 29, 2021, Keon Johnson became the 21st overall pick of the New York Knicks in the 2021 NBA Draft.

With the Clippers, Johnson played for only one season (2021-22 season), appearing in only 15 games, averaging 3.5 points, 1.4 rebounds & 0.9 assists per game.

On February 4, 2022, during the mid-season, he was again traded to Portland Trail Blazers alongside Justise Winslow and Eric Bledsoe while acquiring Norman Powell and Rober Covington.

Johnson completed the 2021-22 NBA season with the Blazers, scoring 214 points in 22 games, averaging 9.7 points, 2.7 rebounds & 2.9 assists per game.
