With notable victories in NASCAR, fans wondering about Kevin Harvick’s family is evident. The two-time Xfinity Series champ & the 2014 Cup Series champ has a younger sister named Amber Harvick.
Kevin and his sister remain as close as they were during the early years when then-young Harvick’s career in racing was yet to bloom.
While the Bakersfield native’s parents left no stone unturned to ensure that Harvick gets into racing, his younger sibling Amber always remained in his support & assistance.
Kevin Harvick competes full-time in NASCAR, driving the No. 4 Ford Mustang for Stewart-Haas Racing.
From go-kart racing to an outstanding NASCAR figure, Kevin came a long way climbing ladders set by his parents & younger sister.
He made his NASCAR debut in the 2001 Dura Lube 400, replacing now-late Dale Earnhardt (who died in a crash). Since then, he has been in 803 races in the Cup Series & 349 races in the Xfinity Series.
Some of the notable victories that Kevin bagged are the 2001 & 2006 Xfinity Series, the 2007 Daytona 500, and the 2014 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.
With 121 combined national series wins, he ranks #3 all-time in NASCAR history, behind Kyle Busch & Richard Petty.
Kevin Harvick Sister, Amber Harvick: Is She Into Racing?
Harvick & his whole family: parents & sister, soaked themselves with passion to forge a racing career for him.
Unlike some younger siblings who followed the path of their elder ones, his sister Amber Harvick stood as a great support for her brother but never got into racing.
To gather sponsors for Kevin, she would assist him in making portfolios from the neighborhood and local businesses.
There is no exact figure for the age gap between the two siblings. It seems it’s not much but a few years.
Amber Is A Special Education Teacher
Kevin’s younger sister, who goes by the name Amber Reece, lives in California. She works as a special education teacher.
According to her LinkedIn profile, she is a graduate of the University of Phoenix. Amber serves as a special education paraprofessional at Panama-Buena Vista Union School District (November 2015- now).
Previously, she was an office clerk at Bakersfield Palms RV Park for seven years (2007 – 2015).
Amber often jokes that when she introduced herself as “Amber,” others corrected her affectionately as “You’re Kevin Harvick’s sister.”
Harvick’s Parents & Family Tree
Kevin Harvick was born on December 8, 1975, in Bakersfield, California, in a moderate family. He was one of the two kids of his parents: Mike Harvick and JoNell Harvick (nee Walker).
As reported, his father, Mike, once worked as a chief crew for the local race team. Then, he began working as a fireman and as a part-time mechanic.
His mother JoNell, worked as a secretary at the local elementary school.
Indeed, Kevin’s parents were so supportive of his career & gave everything to cover the expenses of their son’s racing career.
However, his family couldn’t remain away from the dark side as his father’s “drinking problem” broke the family. As a result, he & his dad didn’t speak to each for 10-15 years.
Does He Have Any Brother?
The future NASCAR Cup Series champ grew up with his younger sister Amber.
But there are reports suggesting that he also has an older brother named Clayton.
In reply to a Tweet from July 2013 regarding a fan query & claim if his brother Clayton was his foster brother, Kevin addressed those claims as “True.”
Further, his brother is not out.
Rather, Havrick’s Instagram & Twitter profile often features his wife DeLana Harvick (nee Linville) and his two kids: son Keelan (born on July 8, 2012) and daughter Piper (born on December 28, 2017).
The NASCAR driver’s wife, DeLana, is the daughter of former Busch Series driver John Linville and Joyce Linville. They married on February 28, 2001, after a year of dating.
