Parker Boles, a Houston, Texas native and former high school baseball star, passed away this week after a courageous battle with cancer at an untimely age of 20, leaving his family and loved ones devastated.
According to a family member, Parker Boles was recently diagnosed with Leukemia and fell ill quickly. He was receiving elite care at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston; however, he couldn’t survive.
“The leukemia was too sudden and too strong; we are shattered beyond repair,” the family announced the untimely death of Parker Boles on social media.
Parker Boles touched the lives of many with his amazing athletic skills and his cheerful nature.
He was a talented right-handed pitcher (RHP) who graduated from Klein Collins High School in Spring, Texas, in 2023.
At 5’10”, he played for the school’s varsity baseball team, where he showcased his skills both on the mound and at the plate.
Despite being uncommitted, Parker displayed solid potential, highlighted by his 80 mph fastball and his impressive pitching performances.
Over his high school career, he contributed to the team’s efforts, with notable moments including striking out four batters in a game against the Houston Heat 2023 – Rafferty and allowing no earned runs in a key match.
Parker’s dedication to his craft was evident, and he was part of a competitive team that ranked #132 in the state of Texas during his senior year.
His achievements were further recognized by his involvement with the Scorpions 2023 Black team.
Late Parker Boles was Pursuing His Sports Administration Degree at the University of Houston
After graduating from Klein Collins High School, Parker Boles continued his education at the University of Houston, where he pursued his bachelor’s degree in sports administration and was set to graduate in 2026.
Parker was also a member and historian of Sigma Chi Fraternity at the University of Houston, where he organized and planned fraternity events.
Similarly, Parker Boles served as a shift lead at Pokemoto in Spring, Texas, and as a baseball camp coach at his alma mater, Klein Collins High School, for two months, coaching and developing players across an age range of 5 to 13.
In addition to being an amazing athlete and student, Parker Boles was a great son to his parents, Janica and Matthew ‘Matt’ Boles.
While his father hasn’t released any statement as he is currently grieving the loss of his first child, Parker’s mother, Janica Day Boles, took to her social media to express her sorrow and recall the memories of her son.
The couple often shares the picture of Parker Boles on social media, expressing their love and pride for him.
Parker’s mother, Janica Day Boles, is a renowned local photographer. She owns her own studio, JBO Photo, in Houston, Texas, and has been running the company since 2008.
Janica also served as a reading intervention tutor at Klein ISD for nearly two years and an assistant at Robyn Arouty Photography.
Likewise, Parker’s father, Matthew ‘Matt’ Boles, has been working with Legal Media, Inc. in Greater Houston for over two decades. He is currently serving as a partner and vice president of the company.
Prior to that, Matt served as a trial consultant, graphic designer, and director of operations at Legal Media, Inc.
In addition to his parents, Parker Boles is survived by his younger sister, Bailey Boles, his partner, Neha Matthew, extended family, friends, and loved ones.
