Born on December 7, 1977, Luke Campbell Donald competes in the PGA Tour and European Tour.

His career earnings stand at $37.589 million and $18.19 million in PGA Tour And European Tour, respectively, as of August 3, 2023. 

He is a former number one golfer in the world who rivaled Rory McIlroy for the top rank.

Throughout his heydays, he secured the #1 rank for a cumulative total of 56 weeks, reaching the milestone for the first time on May 29, 2011.

Out of his 17 professional wins, Donald secured five wins in the PGA, including the 2012 Transitions Championship, where he won with a birdie on the first extra hole. In the European Tour, he became a two-time BMW PGA Champion.

Donald and his future wife Diane Antonopoulos were both attendants of Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

In 1997, Luke joined the university on a golf scholarship, where he would cross paths with the Chicago-born Diane. At college, the then-potential pro golfer was studying art while Antonopoulos studied psychology.

Luke Donald garnered notable attention with the victory in the 1999 NCAA Division I Men’s Golf Championship, where he shot 284 breaking Tiger Woods‘ 1996 championship record.

So fans allege if the English golfer’s achievement may have caught the eye of Diane.

When Did They Begin Dating?

As reported, it was not until their college graduation that the two started dating.

Antonopoulos’ Instagram post of February 14, 2020, suggests it was in 2001, they became a thing.

On June 24, 2023, as they celebrated 16 years of their marriage, the English golfer dedicated the post, appreciating the love and support of his wife.

Parents Of Three Children

Together, Luke and his significant half Diane Donald (nee Antonopoulos), are parents of three kids, all daughters: Elle Georgina, Sophia Ann Grace, and Georgina Campbell.

The duo welcomed their first child, daughter Elle on February 25, 2010. 

Then, on November 11, 2011, they welcomed their second daughter Sophia- her birth news came three days after the demise of Luke Donald’s father, Colin (died on November 8).

The love birds embraced parenthood for the third time as they welcomed their daughter Georgina on May 23, 2014.

As reported, Diane’s pregnancy with her third child, Georgia, was difficult as she was born prematurely ‘almost lost her during the delivery.’

The happy family of five currently splits their time between their houses in Illinois and Florida.

Diane was born on October 2, 1982, in Chicago to Elizabeth Antonopoulos.

Nothing much about her father is known, except he died in 1994. As a result, Diane’s mother had to raise her and her sister Christina as a single parent.

Diane’s mother, Elizabeth, came to the US from Greece at 15 years old. She excelled academically from Chicago public high school to earning a master’s degree.

Afterward, she worked for 40+ years as an architect and project manager.

On May 6, 2021, she wished her mom a 70th birthday (means Elizabeth was born on May 6, 1951).

Her Sister Is An Attorney

Diane Antonopoulos’ sister Christina is a Chicago-based attorney. A journalism grad of Northwestern University (class of 2008), she obtained J.D. in Litigation Concentration from the University of Southern California in 2012.

According to her LinkedIn profile, she worked as a senior attorney for LKQ Corporation (2016-20), having worked as an associate at Greenberg Traurig, LLP (2013-16).

Diane’s sister Christina is now married; she exchanged vows with Jason Mueller in May 2017.
