The American football coach Luke Getsy and his wife Tina have been married for over a decade.

Luke John Getsy is an incredibly talented American football coach born on February 16, 1984, in Munhall, Pennsylvania, United States. 

Getsy began his coaching journey at the University of Akron as a graduate assistant in 2007.

He then worked at various college institutions such as West Virginia Wesleyan, Pittsburgh, Indiana, and Western Michigan. 

The Pennsylvania-born coach joined the Green Bay Packers in 2014. He initially served as an offensive quality control coach and later as a wide receivers coach.

Before rejoining the Packers in 2019, Getsy served as the offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach at Mississippi State in 2018.

Later, on January 30, 2022, Getsy was hired by head coach Matt Eberflus to serve as the offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears.

Luke Getsy Fired From Chicago Bears 

Following his tenure, on January 10, 2024, Luke Getsy, quarterback coach Andrew Janocko, and wide receivers coach Tyke Tolbert were fired by the Bears.

Under Getsy’s term as the Chicago Bears’ offensive coordinator, the team’s running game ranked second in the NFL in rushing yards per game.

However, their passing game was one of the weakest in the league.

Despite two years with Getsy, the Bears couldn’t finish better than the top 15.

They ranked 31st in points scored in 2022 before improving to 19th in 2023.

Eberflus decided to fire Getsy after meeting with team executives to evaluate the past season.

“THE GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE OFFENSE TO ME NEEDED TO BE BETTER THAN IT WAS,” EBERFLUS SAID

Fields had mixed results as the quarterback, performing well as a runner and improving as a passer. However, he struggled with injuries and turnovers.
