While some sources claim that Teddy Bridgewater has two sons with his longtime girlfriend Erika Cardona, neither he nor Erika has publicly confirmed or mentioned having children.

Teddy Bridgewater, full name Theodore Edmond Bridgewater Jr., is a veteran NFL quarterback who currently plays for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Earlier this year, he stepped away from his coaching role at Miami Northwestern High School to return to professional football.

Recently, he stepped in as the starting QB after Baker Mayfield suffered a shoulder injury during a game against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night, on November 23, 2025.

Teddy Bridgewater Treated and Cared For His Students With The Same Devotion As If They Were His Own Children!

Teddy Bridgewater, the veteran NFL quarterback, has been in a long-term relationship with his girlfriend Erika Cardona, a children’s book author.

Her most notable work is “Little Bear Teddy“, a story inspired by Bridgewater’s strength and journey in football

Erika has been with Bridgewater since his early NFL days and supported him through injuries, team changes, and his coaching chapter.

She tends to stay out of the spotlight, but her book and occasional public appearances with Teddy have drawn attention.

The couple is not married, but they have been in a long-term relationship. Teddy has described himself as “very appreciative” of her support

While reports about their family vary, some sources suggest the couple has two sons, while others note they do not have children.

Teddy Bridgewater embraced a fatherly role with his students, coaching them with care, guidance, and affection.

His fatherly instincts are undeniable. During his time as head coach at Miami Northwestern High School, he often referred to his players as “son.”

After retiring from the NFL, he devoted most of his time to coaching at his alma mater, Miami Northwestern High School.

However, after coaching for about a year at Miami Northwestern High School, Teddy was suspended by the Florida High School Athletic Association.

When the Athletic Association ruled that he had provided “impermissible benefits” to players at Miami Northwestern, Bridgewater defended his actions.

He said that he was simply helping kids avoid dangerous walks home in Liberty City.

His intent, as he explained, wasn’t to break rules but to protect and support the young athletes he treated like his own sons.

Following this setback, Bridgewater chose to step away from high school coaching and returned to the NFL.

Whether through his relationships, community ties, or coaching, Bridgewater consistently demonstrates a sense of responsibility and care that extends beyond the football field.

  • Teddy played three seasons as the Cardinals’ starting quarterback.
