Nick Aldis | Early Life & Family

But what we do know is that before becoming a professional wrestler, the English wrestler was proficient in tennis and swimming during his high school days.
It is after Aldis turned 16 that he began training as a bodybuilder and eventually became a wrestler.
Nick Aldis | Wrestling Career
At the age of 18, most teenagers worry about which college they want to attend but not Nick.
It is because, by the time Aldis was 18 years old, he was already making his debut as a professional wrestler. To illustrate, the Norfolk native was involved in a highly contested match against Doug Williams.
After that, the England-born wrestler spent the next three years in his home country wrestling for local promotions like All-Star Wrestling and the World Association of Wrestling.
His in-ring performances were so impressive that one of the leading wrestling organizations at the time, TNA, signed him after only three years of professional experience.
Subsequently, Nick was featured in the TNA with his in-ring name Brutus Magnus.
Slowly but surely, Aldis started to earn the respect of his fellow wrestler and the bosses with his outstanding mic skills and wrestling.
Thus, by the time 2009 came, Brutus was seen as a championship wrestler by the organization.
But, the TNA felt that he lacked a bit of experience to become a solo champion.
As a result, a group called The British Invasion was created, with Nick being the main protagonist along with Doug Williams and Rob Terry.
Subsequently, the 6 feet 4 wrestler won his first major championship when The British Invasion defeated Team 3D to win the IWGP Tag Team Championship.
After that, Nick spent the next two years defending his tag team titles against many top-class opponents.

During those two years, Aldis had some fantastic matches as he won the TNA World Tag Team Championship against legends like Booker T and Scott Steiner.
Unfortunately, The British Invasion got broken up due to the personal differences of the members.
Nonetheless, the Norfolk native was a well-known figure by this time. So, finding another tag team partner was not a problem.
Subsequently, in December 2011, it was announced that Magnus would be teaming up with Samoa Joe.
The pair won the TNA Tag Team Championship multiple times during their one-year-long partnership.
However, they broke up because both of them wanted to become the Heavyweight Champion of TNA.
Subsequently, Nick realized his dream of becoming a solo champion as he won the TNA Heavyweight Championship on 3 December 2013. Finally, his eight long years of graft and hard work had paid off.
Thereafter, he spent the next three years going back and forth between the singles and tag team divisions.
But, Aldis could never really cement a superstar status with TNA due to other more prominent stars who regularly took the limelight away from him.

As a result, the 6 feet 4 wrestlers decided to leave TNA and sign for the Global Force Wrestling.
There, he fought under his real name Nick Aldis and became the first-ever GFW Global Champion.
However, in a turn of fate, GFW was bought out by the TNA, which meant that all its wrestlers were now contracted with the TNA.
Consequently, Aldis returned to TNA with his previous ring name, Magnus, but never really made a lasting impact.
Thus, on 23 September 2017, Nick signed a contract with his current employers, National Wrestling Alliance (NWA).
Soon after, Aldis won the NWA World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Tim Storm on 9 December 2017.
Consequently, the Norfolk native became the second British-born champion after Gary Steele.
After that, Nick had some high-profile matches against Cody Rhodes. To explain, the 33-year-old lost his title at All In pay per view but won it back a month later at NWA’s 70th Anniversary show.
Since then, Aldis has become the face of the organization as he is still the NWA Heavyweight Champion at the time of writing.
And we here at Playersbio hope that the England-born wrestler continues to lead the organization in the coming years.

Although Nick has challenged Kenny to a fight, there is no definite news on the two wrestlers fighting. However, the NWA World Heavyweight champion recently criticized the AEW World champion, Omega.
Aldis said that he was unimpressed with Kenny’s achievements and questioned the legitimacy of his world championship title.
Furthermore, he expressed his desire to fight Omega just to shut his fans up, who call him the Savior of Pro Wrestling. Nick said,
“I hold the championship that’s been held by Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair, Dory Funk, Jack Brisco, you know? Who do I have to… what do I need to prove to anyone? He has a two-year-old belt! He has a belt that’s two years old.”
I went to High School with Nick, he was pretty funny and a little bit geeky. We all hung out at sleepovers most Fridays. He did a great Steve Irwin impression, knew the lyrics to most songs (this was before smart phones) and although still tall was super slim. He does have an older brother fyi.
