From Uganda to Oregon State University Football Player: Prineville’s Eddie Freauff Shines in His Emerging Athletic Career as Parents Daniel and Jessica Celebrate Their Son’s Success

Eddie Freauff, the 6-foot-3 redshirt freshman wide receiver for Oregon State University, has quickly made a name for himself with his athleticism, determination, and work ethic.

Hailing from Prineville, Oregon, Eddie’s journey to college football has been extraordinary, shaped by his unique upbringing, family support, and personal drive.

Eddie’s story begins in Kampala, Uganda, where he grew up in an orphanage.

In 2014, his adoptive parents, Daniel and Jessica Freauff, brought him to Oregon to join their family.

The Freauffs had already adopted three of Eddie’s older half-brothers—Peter, Alex, and Moses—in 2012, and Eddie became their eighth child.

Due to legal complications, Eddie’s adoption was delayed, keeping him in Uganda for an additional two months, during which Jessica immersed herself in the local culture and stayed connected with Eddie through video calls.

Now part of a large, close-knit family, Eddie has six brothers—Luke, Eli, Peter, Moses, Alex, and Elias—and one sister, Susy.

Growing up alongside his siblings, Eddie developed his athletic talents while enjoying the healthy competition and support of his brothers.

Eddie Freauff’s parents, Daniel and Jessica, homeschooled all their children, instilling faith, discipline, and family values.

Eddie Freauff’s Father, Daniel Freauff, is Thriving in His Career

Eddie Freauff’s father, Daniel (Dan) Freauff, is a Battalion Chief with Crook County Fire and Rescue.

He helps lead the firefighters and responds to emergencies, including fires and accidents.

Similarly, Daniel also serves at Prineville Community Church.

Dan is an elder, preaching some Sundays and helping lead worship with music at Prineville Community Curch.

While very little is known about Eddie’s mother, Jessica, who prefers to maintain a low profile, she and Dan have been happily married since 2002.

Together, Dan and Jessica actively participate in Prineville Community Church, helping with various ministries and supporting their community.

The couple also manages their home and cares for their eight children.

Furthermore, Daniel and Jessica frequently share their pride in their son, Eddie, on social media, posting photos and updates celebrating his accomplishments on the football field.

Their support has been relentless, from Eddie’s early years at Crook County High School—where he excelled in football, basketball, and track—to his current rise at Oregon State.

Despite challenges such as a torn labrum in high school and adjusting to a new country, Eddie continues to impress coaches and teammates alike.

Every catch, every touchdown, and every achievement on the field reflect not only Eddie’s talent but also the love, guidance, and support of Daniel, Jessica, and his entire family.
