Priscila Cachoeira was born on August 19, 1988, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and raised by her mother, Rosimeri Cachoeira.

At a young age, his father refused to accept her as his daughter. She used to play volleyball for Fluminense, but she got removed from the team.

While facing obstacles in her life, Priscila Cachoeira unknowingly led her life in the hell of drug addiction. She started to go to parties every day and met people that used drugs.

After that, her life changed completely; she dropped her studies and sports and started to use marijuana, cocaine, and crack.

After continuous use of drugs for more than three years, she realized that drugs were killing her and wanted to stop, but couldn’t control herself.

Later, Cachoeira joined the class to overcome her drug addiction, but soon she started to like the training process after joining the class.

“I felt pain, I screamed, but any time I started going through withdrawals, my mother would take me to the training center. That made me relax. Afterward, I wouldn’t feel the need to use it anymore. That was how I moved on from drugs.”

Cachoeira wanted to become a professional volleyball player. Unfortunately, it wasn’t an option anymore because she was stabbed in the back and removed from the team of Fluminense. 

Afterward, Cachoeira realized that her talent lay in fighting and decided to do something for herself.

Before starting her career as an MMA fighter, she used to fight in a small organization at a local gymnasium.

MMA Career 

With enough determination and practice, Priscila Cachoeira made her MMA debut on June 11, 2016, at Your Chance 1 and won against Cleudilene Costa.

Later in the same year, she appeared in three matches and became the champion of all three. 

At Hipnose Fight Night 2, she fought against Paula Baack on August 13. On September 17, she defeated Amanda Torres Sardinha at XForce MMA 4.

Similarly, she fought against Alexandra de Cassia Rodrigues on December 16 at CUFA Fight Festival 4. 

Likewise, in 2017 she appeared in four matches, where she won the matches of all four.

At Curitiba Top Fight 10, she fought against Laisa Coimbra on February 24, and she appeared in CUFA Fight Festival 5, where she fought against Karoline Martins on May 25. 

Stepping up, she defeated Marta Souza at Curitiba Top Fight 11 – Girls’ Night on July 1, and at HFN – Hipnose Fight Night 3, she fought against Rosy Duarte.

Overall, Priscila Cachoeira made impressive records in MMA fighting and became more popular. Afterward, she signed a contract with UFC and started to compete in the Flyweight division.

Priscila Cachoeira vs. Valentina Shevchenko was her UFC debut match, held at UFC Fight Night 125 on February 3, 2018.

Shevchenko thoroughly dominated Cachoeira throughout the game.

After taking a year’s break, she made her come back at UFC Fight Night 147, where she fought against Molly McCann on March 16, 2019.

But she couldn’t make it to her side and lost the fight by unanimous decision.

At UFC 237, Luana Carolina would fight against Yanan Wu, but Yanan Wu had pulled out of the event due to injury, and Cachoeira replaced her.
