Ravichandran Ashwin was born on 17th September 1986 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He is Indian by nationality and follows Hinduism. Likewise, he is Virgo, as per the horoscope chart.
Ashwin’s father, N. Ravichandran, was a former club-level cricket player and used to work at Southern Railways. His mother’s name is Chitra.
During childhood, his first love was football. Moreover, he was a well-known football player in his school. However, later he pursued cricket, and he won’t regret his decision.

International Career
Test
On 6th November 2011, Ashwin made his India test debut against West Indies. In the first inning, he took 3/81, followed by 6/47 in the second one.
Later, he became the third Indian to be awarded man of the match in the test debut. Furthermore, in the same series, he was also the third Indian to score a hundred and pick five wickets.
In late 2012, in the Test series against England, Ravichandran Ashwin became the Indian fastest 50 wicket-taker in the test match.
Later, in 2013, Ashwin scored his second test century to record the highest 7th-wicket test partnership of 280 runs with Rohit Sharma in the West Indies series. He also set another record taking 100 wickets only in the 18th Test.

During the Test series against Sri Lanka, Ashwin reached 300 test wickets, becoming the fastest player ever in 54 test matches.

On 5th June 2010, Ashwin made his ODI debut for India against Srilanka. Moreover, in his debut, Ashwin scored 32 runs and picked up 2/50.

Chennai Super Kings
In 2009 Ravichandran Ashwin was selected by Chennai Super Kings to lay in IPL. Later in 2010 and 2011, he went on to went two consecutive IPL titles with CSK. In the title-winning season, he managed to take 12 and 20 wickets each season, respectively.
Furthermore, he also won the Champions League T20 in 2010 and 2014, playing for CSK. In the 2010 edition, he was the highest wicket-taker of the tournament bagging 13 wickets.
Journey Men
In 2016, after two years ban for CSK in IPL, Ashwin was drafted by Rising Pune Supergiants. During a four-wicket win over Punjab, he grabbed his 100th IPL wicket. But the next season, he could not play due to injury.

Recently, in October 2021, Ravichandran Ashwin had a spat with Kolkata Knight Riders captain Eoin Morgan during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match. Later, Ashwin explained his altercation on Twitter stating he had no idea that the ball had hit Rishabh when he took the run.
