On July 5, 2018, Robert Williams signed his contract with the Boston Celtics but only made his game debut on October 23, 2018. He did not make up a good reputation during his initial days as he was usually late for his training. 

When things started moving entirely on the pace, his career came to a halt when he struggled with political artery entrapment syndrome (PAES) on both legs. Additionally, Robert has been playing on this condition for a long time. 

By the end of 2021, Robert Williams had not set up his first career triple-double in a 123–108 win over the Phoenix Suns.
