James Lang Gay: The internet is currently buzzing with a viral dance performed by the rugby union player, and it’s gaining widespread love as the new year kicks off in 2024.
The rugby player has spent over nine years on the field and has excelled in everything he does, earning him considerable fame among rugby fans.
This time, he is going viral not only among rugby fans but also among a wider audience, all thanks to a dance he performed to a song from a movie called ‘Saltburn.’
Born April 4, 1995, Lang initially represented Harlequins at the schoolboy level.
Lang’s burgeoning rugby career took off when, as a teenager, he joined the Welsh side Rygbi Gogledd Cymru (RGC1404) in North Wales.
In the summer of 2016, Lang returned to Harlequins Academy from Rygbi Gogledd Cymru.
Later, in 2021, Lang and fellow Harlequins player Glen Young signed a pre-contract agreement with United Rugby Championship side Edinburgh Rugby.
Internationally, Lang made his debut for Scotland at the U18 level. Five years later, he received his first senior cap against Canada on June 9, 2018.
Is Rugby James Lang Gay? What Was His Viral Dance?
The Edinburgh Rugby player, James Lang, grabbed online attention when the team posted a video of him dancing on the pitch.
In the post, he is seen dancing to Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s “Murder on the Dancefloor.”
The 2001 hit has gained popularity recently, following its use in the iconic scene in the movie “Saltburn.”
However, the best and most unexpected reaction comes from fans, who appreciate him for being comfortable in his masculinity.
Similarly, many expressed appreciation for him, acknowledging his enjoyment of life without passing judgment on himself or others.
While he has gained numerous fans, many commented how they “suddenly became interested” in rugby.
Moreover, he has not disclosed anything about his gender or sexuality, so it is inappropriate to assume his sexual orientation.
Target For Silverware
James Lang agreed to a two-year contract extension with Edinburgh on December 2023, which will keep him at the club until at least the summer of 2026.
Having signed a new two-year contract with Edinburgh, Scotland, center James Lang is setting his sights on winning silverware.
Lang scored two tries in 42 appearances in his third season with Edinburgh since moving from Harlequins.
Now, he is seeking trophy success to complement the English Premiership title he secured in London in 2021.
Expressing his excitement, the athlete, who has earned six Scotland caps, stated, “I’m really excited to be part of this group for another couple of seasons. I’ve loved my time here. Edinburgh as a city is amazing.”
He continued, “We haven’t achieved what we wanted in the last few seasons, but with this group of players and coaches, I’m excited to see where we can go and hopefully win some silverware. That was a big reason for wanting to stay here.”
During his five seasons at Twickenham Stoop, he made 94 appearances for Harlequins, accumulating 214 points.
He won the Premiership title in his final year at the club before moving to the Scottish capital.
