The Blackhawks released a statement on Tuesday that the NHL franchise is placing Perry on unconditional waivers for the purpose of a buyout.
The statement emphasized the Blackhawks’ intent to promote professional and safe work environments.
The 41-year-old veteran reportedly has engaged in conduct that is unacceptable and in violation of internal policies.
Amidst the rumors, Perry broke his silence and apologized to the Blackhawks organization.
Corey Perry, a Canadian professional ice hockey player, had joined the Blackhawks on June 29, 2023.
Promptly, the NHL franchise and Perry agreed to a one-year/$4 million deal. Prior to this, he played with the Tampa Bay Lightning, Montreal Canadiens, Dallas Stars, and Anaheim Ducks.
Moreover, he also represents the Canadian ice hockey national team and has won gold medals for his country.

After his contract was terminated by the Blackhawks, there were rumors that the big step was because of his alleged connection with superstar Connor Bedard’s mother.
The move came among the rumors of Perry being in a personal relationship with Melanie Bedard, further fueling the speculations.
However, the GM, Kyle Davidson, in his press release, made it clear that the termination of their former right wing had nothing to do with Bedard’s mother.
Less than a day after GM addressed the issue, another rumor made the headlines.
Some sources have claimed that Perry was involved “physically” with Chris Chelios’ daughter, Caley Chelios, who works for the Hawks.
What’s more surprising is that, those claims came forward when Chelios is pregnant with her third child. However, no evidence is there to back those claims.

Caley Chelios, born in 1993, is a reporter and studio analyst for the Blackhawks, where she joined prior to the 2021-22 season.
She attended Northwestern University, where she was a member of the lacrosse team. During college, she met her husband, Danny Vitale, a former American football player.
They share two kids: one daughter, Isabella (b. 2020), and a son, Danny (b. September 2021).
Caley, after earning her Master’s degree, got a chance to report many events, including the 2016 NHL Winter Classic and the 2016 NFL Draft.
Following this, Chris’ daughter joined the Tampa Bay Lightning as a reporter. After serving for the Lightning for five seasons, she stepped down from her duties to focus on her family.
Coming back, she joined the Blackhawks broadcast team and ESPN’s coverage of the 2022 Stanley Cup playoffs.
